Fantasia found the rainbow home

This new years eve Fantasia did not wake with the morning sun. She instead remained asleep for evermore. After 15 years of playful love from a wonderful pooch we found ourselves surprisingly at ease with her decision to pass on.
For the past few years her joints were getting a bit sore and food just wasn't as good as it once was. Her love was never waivering and she still played and played. But we knew she was getting up in age and I struggled every day with the thought of her suddenly starting to loose her health and having to make a decision to put her down. I could not for any reason think of where I was going to get the strength to make such a choice as she has been a close companion for 15 years and I loved her dearly.
It has been painful having her pass but to know she was sleeping soundly when it happened and that she lived a great wonderful years helps get through. Nikki feels the loss and still even after these months looks to the corner of the bed she slept in and waits to see if she is coming. Happy dreams Tasia may you get as much people food as you want now

Showing my age

The great furless one tells me I am showing my age. A wrinkle here a wrinkle there, sprinkled with some gray hair makes anyone start to show their age!

However I think she means that after 14 years I am starting to have a hard time keeping up with the younger dogs. I chase Nikki for less than I used to and the cats will sleep with me now because they know I won't bite them.

I still love teddy! I still carry Teddy around and growl at him and try to pull his arms off! So I am not all old....just a little tired. Teddy is as big as my head so carrying him now a days takes more than I have sometimes. But Mom will carry me and teddy so we both make it to the bed by the window :-)

I think if I slow down a little bit more I can get a little rest. That Nikki really is hard to live with sometimes. At least she knows who owns the food dish!
