Arrival Story:
Kai was abandoned as a puppy on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona. A teacher rescued him and brought him to Phoenix to be adopted when he was about 9 weeks old. I saw his photo in an email and it was love at first sight!
Bio:
Kayenta is the name of a town on the Navajo reservation. His nickname, Kai, means "ocean" in Hawai'ian, an apt name for a dog who LOVES to frolic in the rain, play in puddles and mud, and climb into the shower on his own. "Kai" can also mean "happy" in Chinese, and he is indeed a happy, happy dog!

Mom and Dad took me to California for five days. I rode in my new pet travel hammock. I like it a lot! I can see out all the car windows, and I am close to Mom and Dad and the air conditioner. I have lots of room to stretch out and sleep, too. We visited Grandma. Cousin Lulu and Cousin Marble came over to play with me. I went to the Orange Dog Park every morning. Guess what? I caught a bird! I am the mighty hunter! All the other dogs followed as I paraded my trophy around the dog park! Feathers scattered all over the place!
