My sister, Figgy, tagged me, so I'm IT! This is fun!
Here are the rules of the game!
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
7 facts about me:
-- I am the fifth GSD my mom has had the privilege to live with. She thinks my breed is the smartest, most handsome, most obedient, and most loyal breed in the entire world. Feel free to disagree, but you will NEVER change her mind!
-- I was hit by a car in 2000. Mom's cousin was letting my sister, Sable, and me out into our kennel and we ran away from her. Mom was at a Labor Day party and will never forget getting the call that we had escaped. She left and went looking for us, but we had run into the woods behind our house and she couldn't find us anywhere. Soon after she came home the phone rang and the caller ID said "Nashua Police Dept" and she was terrified to pick up the phone, she just knew! When she answer the woman on the other end asked if she had two GSD's and when mom said yes, mom was told we were hit by a car. We must have been running side by side or one in front of the other, because they thought one car hit us both. The car didn't stop, an unidentified call was placed to the PD and mom just can't imagine that there are two people in the world who would drive away after hitting a dog. Sable died immediately and I somehow pulled myself up on a person's lawn--left for dead. The emergency vet saved me.
--The emergency vet saved me. I had a broken front leg, but even more concerning I had air in my chest and it had to be suctioned out. After I was hit, I had no mobility or feeling in my left leg, they wanted to amputate, but my dad and mom said no. That is not what they would want done to them, plus I have a bad elbow on my right side and losing my left leg would most likely have been a death sentence. They took me to Angel Memorial Hospital, in Boston, and an orthopedic surgeon did surgery on my leg. I now have full use of my leg, I don't even need to use a boot!!!! My vet bill for the whole accident was $9000. My boys were suppose to go to Disney that winter, but more than willingly gave it up for my vet bills. I love them and they love me!
--I have a baby sister named Fig Newton. At first I didn't like her too much, but I have learned to accept her. We even snuggle on the couch sometimes! Mom usually posts under her name because she is always sitting on mom's lap at the computer and she likes to think that she is the one doing the thinking and the typing. I would like to sit on mom's lap, but everytime I try to get up in the chair with her she makes me get down. She can be mean like that. At least she lets me get on her lap while she is sitting on the couch!
-- I am going to be 15 years old in a couple months. When we moved to a new town and had to get a new vet last year the vet couldn't believe how old I am, mom had to bring in my AKC paperwork to prove it!!! I am a little gray on the muzzle, but not too much and as you can see from my pic, my favorite place to rest is in the bathtub!!! I am not too old to climb in and out of there!!!
-- I was originally placed with mom for fostering because I was going to be a police dog--like my dad! I was not able to do so because I have a problem with my elbow--arthritis. Funny though, it has become LESS of a problem as I have gotten older. Mom is happy that I stayed with her, I am a great dog!
-- I have two older human brothers. One is 15, his name is Alex. The other is named Nick. He is in Iraq, he is a military policeman. When he comes home he wants to become a K-9 cop and work with GSD's, just like me, either that or he wants to be a motorcycle cop and ride Harley's. Mom and I think a K-9 cop is a much better choice, we like the idea of Nick having a protector at his side. I have been the most loyal of dogs and was a big part of raising my boys! When they were little I use to "corral" them in the yard and bark when they tried to step off the curb in front of our house. Mom really appreciated this, but my boys didn't like it too much when they got older and I wouldn't let them leave until mom came out to tell me it was OK! BOL! I did this until they were almost teenagers!
Tons of FUN!!! Now, who should I tag???......
Hopefully these pups haven't already been tagged and just not had a chance to post a diary yet!
1) I am tagging, Medea, a fellow GSD dogster.
2) Duke, another GSD, who happens to have the same name as my mom's first GSD.
3) Mack, a GSD who is new here on Dogster. Welcome, Mack!
4) Killer, another GSD friend.
5) Winston, who has acute renal failure due to recalled foods. Hope you are feeling better Winston!
6) Odie, a cute basset hound, who looks a lot like my uncle named Dawg (my mom's parent's basset hound)
7) And, last, but certainly not least, Jack, who has a dad who is deployed in the Army, just like my human bro. God bless your family Jack and please thank your dad for his service to our GREAT country!
