This is Pongo's mom, Mishy writing. I wanted to thank all of my wonderful Dogster and Catster friends for sharing their thoughts, wishes, and prayers for us after the loss of my dear husband Ernie. It meant a tremendous amount to us, especially since we have no family in the area and it really made me feel a lot less alone in this world. Thank you again, I will never forget your kindness...

We are sad...

Pongo came through her sugery with flying colors and is doing well. However, we rcently had a tragedy in our home when I lost my sweet husband Ernie. It's a tough time for us, but I want to thank all our dogster friends for their prayers and good wishes.

I'm having surgery tomorrow...

I have to have surgery tomorrow to have a lump removed from my head. Mommy's so worried that she can't sleep or relax since she learned that I need it. Please keep me in your prayers and good thoughts....

Mom entered me in Dogster's World's Coolest Dog contest. I hope that I get some votes. Mom says I am the cutest dog ever, but I think she is probably just a little biased :-))

This i mom's favorite time of year!!!!

And mine too!!! I seem to get to go for much more longer walks this time of year. Mom loves the fall and we can go for loooooong walks and it's nice and cool outside. I love to run through the leaves and smell allthe cool smells there are. I guess I love the autumn too...

Sorry I haven't been around...

Momma lost her job last month and she wasn't able to access dogster right away because she did't have access to her work emailanymore, but now we are back. Things have been kind of rough but momma promises that no matter what, she will always keep me in Alpo. Isn't she a good doggie mommy? :-)

I am feeling much better...woof woof...yay!!!! Thank you for- the good wishes!!!

Well I am feeling much better now since mommy took me to the vet. I HATE going to the vet but I have to say, this time I am glad she took me. All my bloodwork came back normal so the vet thinks it might have been a virus or maybe even food poisening yuck!!!!

Anyhow, I am eating and drinking normally now and I am loving how everybody is making such a big fuss over me...BOL!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU everypup and everykitty who sent me your good wishes and prayers. Mommy says they made a big difference.

We're back from the Vet's - Pongo is feeling a bit better

Hi from Pongo's mommy,

Thank you for the kind thoughts. I just got back to work. The vet took an xray so we know she didn't swallow anything and there were no suspicious lumps or bumps. The took blood but the results won't be back until tomorrow, however the concensus is either food poisoning, gastritis, or a stomach ulcer from the Deramaxx (anti-imflammatory for arthritis) that they started her on a month ago.

We'll know more tomorrow, but the gave her fluids sub-quetaneous and some shots to settle her tummy. The vet said to let her have small amounts of water tonight and try boiled rice and hamburger tomorrow. She also gave us an antibiotic but we can't start her on it until she eats so it won't upset her tummy. In any case, it looks like we dodged the bullet on something more serious (my biggest fear of course). Thank you so much for all of your pawsative thoughts and prayers. I think they made a difference :-))

A note from Pongo's mommy - Pongo's sick and I am worried

I am very worried about Pongo. She hasn't been herself for the last 3 or 4 days and yesterday she started with diarrhea and wouldn't eat. During the night she started to throw up what appears to be flem and her water. I am going to taker her to the vet this afternoon as soon as I can get coverage at work and leave, but I am soooo worried. After losing Sammy and Molly within a month of each other and given Pongo's age, I just can't stop thinking about what if possiblilities. Please pray for Pongo and send her all of yoour pawsative thoughts. My dogster friends have always been the best and we really need you now. Thanks for listening.

Happy Cinco Di Mayo!

Which momma says she probably horribly mispelled, but it is the thought that counts, right? It's a beautiful spring day in New Jersey and it is my favorite time of year. I always get long walks when the weather is nice and my arthritis doesn't bother me as much.

Momma took me to the vet and she gave me a new medicine for my arthritis called Deramax. Mommy calls them puppy uppers because I act like a puppy when she gives them to me. She still has to "hide" them in mashed potatoes or cream cheese because I'm too good to eat a flavoured pill. What she doesn't know is that I do that on purpose so that I get an extra treat! :-))
