 Quick Bio:
 Likes: Ferret-herding, Cat-Watching, Elbow-kissing, ball-fetching

Pet-Peeves: Smelling like doggie shampoo, what with all this fragrant horse manure around.

Favorite Toy: Anything airborne.

Favorite Food: She loves her dinner! We feed Iams kibble mixed with canned food and mix it up with warm water. She thinks it's filet mignon! She also thinks milk-bones and rawhide chew stix are nothing to sneeze at, and dispatches them with relish.

Favorite Walk: She loves our back yard and going out to the barn to check out the horses. I'm hoping that in due time she will be herding them for me!

Best Tricks: Catching her 'floppy disc' , provided the thrower and wind cooperate...

Arrival Story: After having lost our beloved She-Bear in June 2004, we decided we'd look into another pooch to keep Justin and Jackson in line...After an overwhelming search of potential candidates on Petfinder.com, we found one to look at Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, in Sprakers, NY. She was fairly dominant, so we thought she might be too much for our older shepherd, Justin. We looked around a little more, and this small border collie caught our eye. She seemed timid and was very thin. We took Savannah (then named Georgia) out, and she was a real love-muffin - you know, the cocked head, paw on your leg thing. Then she jumped up and gave us full-body hugs, and we were goners. After a game of fetch in the play yard, it was a done deal. We had fallen in love.

Bio: Savannah was found as a stray by the shelter. She had an old rabies tag on her, and they tried to trace her owners. The number on the tag corresponded to a Vet Clinic in Georgia, but when they called the clinic, the number had been disconnected. Hence her shelter name "Georgia". We thought Savannah was a perfect name for our former Southern Belle. We can only wonder why such a lovely, sweet-tempered dog ended up homeless in NY, but consider ourselves lucky to have found her. On the first day she came home, she, and all our other pets, acted like she's been here all her life.
