Arrival Story:
After a break-up, I decided to adopt a dog. My roommate at the time was going to help but by the time he got home that night all the shelters were closed and I didn't see anything in the paper I wanted. He was determined to go look at dogs so he found an ad for Chow pups and insisted we go. I wanted nothing to do with a fluffy, prissy kind of dog. But, of course, when I saw her I fell in love and we brought her home. It was impulsive and after learning about what kind of breed I'd just committed to I struggled with some regret. But over the first year we developed a very strong bond and have been best buds ever since.

Bio:
"Kali" is a goddess of Creation and Destruction. This name has been very appropriate for her as she can be quite protective/aggressive but also very very sweet and affectionate. She gets anxious when we stray even a few minutes from our routine, but calms us with just a few pets and kisses. She can lay around all day but be off like a flash to chase anything small and furry. Kali has had a bark like a Rottie since she was a little thing and everyone seems to have traumatic Chow Chow stories. Having been single until recently and usually w/o roommates, it's impossible to say how much she's protected me from. She's has driven cross country with me 3 times and lived in 7 different apartments with me. She has been quite the trooper and one of my greatest dreams is to have a backyard for her before she's too old to enjoy it. It should happen before long, Thank God.
