Arrival Story: Harry came to us when he was 12 weeks old, via Craig's List, because his previous owner could not keep him. We were lucky enough to find his breeder online and connect with her immediately after we adopted Harry. How lucky were we?
Bio: Harry is 1/2 Bassett and 1/2 Miniature Poodle. He is considered a hybrid breed. He loves to run in the backyard, eat treats, go to the dog park, go for walks, and spend time with his Daddy. He was given his name because he reminds his Mommy of the dog in her favorite childhood book, "Harry, the Dirty Dog". Harry originally came from Uptown Pets in Washington state and now lives in Portland, OR, with his Mommy, Daddy and cats, Sebby and Molly.
Ok, so, I got to do the coolest thing the other day with mom and dad. I went on a walk with them (one of my favorite things) and they went to a restaurant and I got to sit outside with them while they ate! Daddy fed me some steak. MMMMM!!!! I sat under the table like a good boy and watched the people walk by. Of course, I got tons of attention. Who wouldn't want to pet me?
The other night I was outside and I saw the neighbors. They just moved in, so I'm not quite sure who they are. Anyway, I needed to tell my Mommy and Daddy that there were strangers around. I didn't want to run inside 'cause I needed to keep my eye on these strangers. I didn't know what to do, so I opened my mouth and out came this noise. My Mommy and Daddy came running outside because they had never heard me do this before and I hadn't either! I think this is cool! I sound just like a basset hound! Now, I make this noise quite a bit; when I see my Daddy, when the mailman comes, at the cats and sometimes I even do it in my sleep! I think this noise is called a bark. I'll ask my Mommy. She'll know!
Ok, so this is so cool! My Mommy and Daddy are painting their (our) bedroom. And do you know what happened? They moved the mattress from the bed to the living room floor! So, we are camping out in the living room and I love it! I can't believe how much fun I am having camping. My Mommy doesn't like camping out. I don't understand why. I am having the best time running from the mattress to the couch and over and over and over again! Whew! I hope we can camp out forever!
