Birthday: October 17th 1994 Likes: Hittin the beach & body surfing waves, retrieving plastic bottles from the water. Pets, pets and more pets! Pet-Peeves: Being nudged to move over in MY bed, he moans and gives me a dirty look! Favorite Toy: Plastic soda bottles filled with treats he has to get out by chasing it, getting the cap off and shaking the treats out. He has pleant of toys, although in his old age he will only play with a plastic bottle, he acts like a pup chasing it around. Favorite Food: Carrots, apples, pina colada's (virgin), & ice cream cake for Birthdays are fav. snacks though he'll eat just about anything! Favorite Walk: Anywhere...city walks, nature hikes, he likes jumping and walking on walls; anywhere people can make a fuss over him. Best Tricks: Going through his tunnel, speaking on command, Bang! (dead), retrieving the TV remote or anything else I drop, bringing me his dish when he is done eating. Arrival Story: I wanted a dog for companionship & saftey. I reasearched breeds and I narrowed it down to either a Dal or Boxer because of the medium size, short hair and endurance. I picked Dylyn from 13 siblings; I couldn't tell all of them apart, the breeder said "you keep going back to that one" and when I looked the pup was looking directly at me as if to say "I'm the one". If I knew then that many Dals show up at Humane Societies I would have adopted; he was my first dog and I didn't think of this option. Dylyn is everything I wanted in a dog companion and MUCH MORE! Bio: Dylyn is trained in all 3 levels of obedience and has 2 titles. He is also trained for agility and is a therapy dog. He got board with the show thang and now just does dog stuff...hangs out on the bed, and goes on walks and to parks to be with people and dog friends. He is smart and funny and easy to care for. He does have some typical traits such as stubborness and persistance. He has never been hyper, but I have always kept him active which is the #1 reason I chose a Dal. They still get a bad rap. I would like to asure people they are very smart, devoted, easy to care for and a laugh a minute! The Groups I'm In: Dal Pals MYSPACE: Come see me on MYSPACE!

Today I went to PetSmart with my friend Iggy. He had a Vet. apt., I went to keep him company...and to get new treats, bones and dog tags with my new phone number. As usual my mistress made me show-off by carrying my new bone myself, she says it keeps me focused. I guess she has a point; it's hard to sniff with that big bone in my mouth. Then I had to put the bone on the counter to be rung up, THEN (...yawn...) I had to give the money to the cashier. OK, she got a kick outta this; she said it was the first time the pet did all the shopping! Next time I hope I can just pull my mistress around, sniff around (and sneak a squirt or two in)...don't tell..I think this is why I have to carry the bone!
We had some extra time before the sun went down so we went to the dog park. There were a couple dogs with their peoples roughing out the cold; the mud was frozen so it wasn't too messy. I did some sniffs, squirts..younno...etc. I wondered around, my usual loner thang, but I did play with a cute fiesty Ridgeback who befriended me. It was getting mighty cold for this native Florida boy, (burrrrr...30's!) so my mistress let me out of the dog-park, chased me around a bit then we were off to snuggle up in the warm house.
I got a chewy bone when we got home, then a tasty appetizer of cheese while my mistress made salads; then I managed to get (beg for) some leftovers. (hey it's hard work to look so pathetic!) Oh, I had some dog food latter...boring...
Now I'm going for my mid-night walk, I think this is going to be a quickie...it's the coldest day/night of the year so far....though I bet I will still find some scraps from the restaurants to vacuum up off the street! Oh no...I can see that goofy jacket coming out of the closet soon!
