Mommy said she was very proud of me because I got along with and played with a lot of different dogs. I did have a lot of fun and I can't wait until next year!!

It's been a while since Mommy has let me on the computer, and I've had a busy few weeks!
First, today is my 3rd birthday!! Last night, I had a special dinner and my weekly doggie ice cream. Then I got 2 presents from Pop and Grandmom. Today, Mommy took me to my favorite store, Pabby's Pet Pantry, and I got several treats from the staff and Mommy bought me some more special treats (plus I got a free one for it being my b-day)!!!
Friday night Mommy took me to the vet because I had a bump under my eye. I was really good and let the vet pet me and touch my eye. She said she thought it was a cyst and to put warm compresses on my eye and hopefully it would go down. Mommy has done this and it already is getting better.
A few weeks ago, I got to play with some new friends. Mommy took me to Mommy Jodi's and I got to play with Angel, Princess, Kya, and new foster, Eli. He's pretty big, and I was a little afraid of him, but we did ok. We all really preferred to lay around and get some sun.
The next day, Mommy took me to a place called a dog park. It's a big fenced-in area and there were some other dogs there. I was a little nervous, but had a good time. After a while, there got to be too many other dogs, and Mommy wanted to leave. That was fine with me, but before we could leave, a Great Dane got mad at me and started chasing me. I was really scared, and since the Great Dane is so big he couldn't keep up with me. But, all the other dogs started to chase me too because they thought it was a game. I wasn't having fun anymore and was really happy when Mommy got to the gate and we were able to leave. She said we'd go back another day, but I hope there's not as many dogs there. I'm not used to all them.
I found another friend to play with, but turned out it wasn't a good idea and I got sprayed with some smelly stuff. Grandmom kept asking me when I was going to learn my lesson, but I don't know what she's talking about. It's not like I try to play with skunks a lot...this is only the 2nd time. But, I have trouble remembering what creatures I'm supposed to stay away with, especially when it's dark! Hey, I am a dog, and don't stop to think what I'm barking at when there's something in my yard. Mommy said it's a good thing groundhogs don't spray smelly stuff too since I had one of them cornered in the yard not long after the skunk incident.
There were also some other "friends" in the yard a few weeks ago, but Mommy doesn't know what they were. She called them baby somethings. There were 2 of them, but I only got one. It was really cool, I threw it up in the air and it kept squeaking even after I let go! Mommy and Grandpop took it away though. They're no fun!
Well, Mommy says she has to do some work, so I think I'll go take a nap. It is my birthday, and I'm pretty tired after talking about my adventures!!!

It snowed Sunday night into Monday, and Mommy came home early from work on Monday so we could play. We only got 6 inches, but I had so much fun! First, I ran around the yard, and then Mommy threw snowballs to me. Then, we went for a walk, and I got to play with my little buddy Rocket. When we got back home, Mommy threw more snowballs for me to chase.
I hope the snow stays around for a bit because I LOVE playing in the snow and chasing snow balls!!!

I hear some guy named Abraham Lincoln made a speech many years ago in a place called Gettysburg. Mommy just took me there for the Siberian Husky Club of America's National Specialty. I got to see a lot of dogs...many of whom wanted to sniff my butt...HOW RUDE!
Anyway, I got to participate in the rescue parade, and got to meet a bunch of other dogs, who were okay about not sniffing my butt...I stayed in a cool hotel room with Nika and her hu-mom Paige (my new BFF...she fed me Cornish Game Hen and something called lunch meat!). I met some really cool people from TOTTWest (Polly & Bill, Babeth, and Scott & Ruth) and their doggies: Nanook, Nikolai, Rookie, Keema, and Kira.
We only spent a few days in Gettysburg, and I was glad to get home. I don't like being away from Grandmom and Pop too long. They may get used to me not being around:)

Mommy is VERY HAPPY tonight. Her Phillies won the World Series, whatever that is. All I know is, there's a lot of celebrating going on, and all I want to do is go to bed. I'm tired from my trip to Gettysburg. I'll write about that tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm making my Mommy go to bed.

Now that the Tails of the Tundra Hike is over, I can get on the computer. Boy, my Mommy spent hours on the computer the past few weeks planning the day with Nika's hu-mom. I was feeling a little left out, but Mommy made up for it on Saturday.
I had a GREAT time!!!! I was a little sad at first, because Mommy left me behind, but Pop and Grandmom took me over a few hours later. I couldn't believe how many dogs and people were there! I met my cousins Rocco and Lacey. Rocco was adopted from TOTT a little over a year ago and I had never met either of them before. I also met some of my neighbors, saw some old friends (Nika, Isis, Leika, and Kya) and made a few new friends (other TOTT alums Skyler, Takoda, Sheba and so many more I can't even remember their names!). I had a great time playing with Takoda...a husky mix like me and we got along great...we played and played and played and played!!! We could have played longer, but Mommy didn't want me to get too tired. Oh, and Mommy Jodi, Naji and AJ were also there!! My Mommy also let me get into the Dogster picture this year. She didn't trust me last year to be around all those dogs, but this year she figured I'd be okay. And I was...we sat in the front row, and I got to see a Pug up close and roll over and over and over in the big area!
The only part of the day I didn't like was when my Mommy took me down to the Sled Dog Club and some guy tried to put something called a harness on me. I didn't like that at all and let him and my Mommy know. My friend Isis didn't mind though, and she ran along with some other dogs pulling a guy on some sort of wheeled contraption. Sure didn't look like fun to me, but they seemed to be having a good time. Oh well, whatever.
My Pop took me home after that and Mommy came home a few hours later. She was REALLY tired, so I let her rest and didn't bother her too much.
All I know is...I can't wait until next year so I can see my new friends and meet some more!

Auntie Heather came over last night and brought her puppy, Ecklo. We had such a great time! He's really a cool dog. We played for over an hour, and would have kept playing if Mommy and Auntie Heather didn't make us take a break. After a break, we played some more.
Mommy is going to post some pictures and a video on my page.
I can't wait until I get to play with Ecky again!!!

It's almost that time of year again...Tails on the Trails is just around the corner. We hope you can join us at Warminster Community Park on September 20, 2008. Tails on the Trails 2008 is Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue's 6th annual fundraising event, and we have a lot of exciting events planned. Our friends from the PA Sled Dog Club will join us again. We will also have dog scootering, doggie games, vendors, and, new this year, members of the Kruisin' Kanines Agility Club who will be on hand to conduct some demos.
There is no fee to attend. However, if you wish to be eligible for prizes and pledge incentives, we ask that you register at http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2008/hikeregonli neform.html. The registration fee helps us offset some of our expenses of the day.
If you plan to join us, and have adopted a dog from our rescue, please participate in our "Alumni Revue." This is one of our favorite activities of the day as we love to see our alumni and hear how well they're doing. Complete the form at http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2008/events-alum nirevue.html and be ready to strut your stuff with your pup. Each dog participating in the revue receives a gift.
If you want to attend, but don't live in the area, there are several dog-friendly hotels. Check our website for more information: http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2008/hikestay.ht ml.
Whether you live near or far, if you can't make it to the hike, you can register as a remote hiker and we'll send you a goodie bag, and any pledge incentives you're eligible for. Register as a remote hiker at: http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2008/hikeregonli neform.html.
I registered once again this year in memory of my sister, Lou Lou. You can make a pledge to me by visiting: http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2008/pledgepaypa l.html.
Thanks, and we hope to see some of you at the hike!!

Wow, how time flies!!! I've been in my forever home for almost one year. It was March 31, 2007 that Mommy Jodi packed me up in her SUV and brought me to my new home. My Mommy and I have had a great time over the past year and she says she doesn't know what she would do without me:) Of course, I don't know what I would do without her either. She feeds me, gives me treats, takes me for walks, takes me for rides in the car, buys me toys, lets me cuddle with her on the sofa and lets me sleep in bed with her. And...who can forget one of the best inventions ever...GRANDPARENTS!!!!!!!!! They spoil me even more than Mommy does! I hope every dog has grandparents.
Even more exciting is that I met a new friend yesterday! Mommy took me to Pabby's and I met another doggie named Isis. She was adopted from Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue too and Mommy has been friends with her Mommy & Daddy for years. I was a little witchie at first, but I soon realized Isis meant me no harm. We then went back home and, guess what?? Isis came too!!! We got to run around in the yard and play. I was soooo tired when she left that I slept for hours. I hope I get to play with her again soon.
Well, Mommy says I have to go eat my breakfast now. I wonder what else we get to do today?

This past Friday, we had our first real snow storm of the winter. I was so excited because my Mommy stayed home from work to play with me in the snow!!! She took some pictures and some videos. We played for hours, and also helped Pop shovel.
I hope it snows some more before the winter ends!

Woo Woo, all. Vienna here. What a great day!!! Pop and Grandmom came down and I got to open up some presents and had squeaky toys and treats in a stocking!!! My Mommy took pictures...be sure to check them out. I wasn't too thrilled when she put that stringy bow on me...I'm not a present!!! Plus, the other day I got a present from a friend of my Mommy's. I never met her, but think she's pretty nice.
Well, we just came back from a walk, and now I gotta rest up so I can play some more with my toys.
Hope all you dogsters had a great day too!!
Merry Christmas!!

My Mommy and Grandmom took me to PetSmart on Saturday to buy good stuff. Although, I didn't get any of it because they said it was for something they called Christmas and I'd have to wait. I hope it's not too far away.
Anyway, there was a big guy in a red suit there and Mommy said I should have my picture taken with him. I was OK with that, but someone touched me from behind (Mommy warned them!) and I sort of freaked out. We ended up getting a picture eventually, but it's more of Santa than me. I also sort of hurt my Mom too. I was snapping and grabbed her hand. She has a few bruises but isn't mad at me, so I guess she's OK.
Maybe I'll be better at this next year!

Eight weeks ago, my Mommy took me to a scary place called Pabby's Pet Pantry. There were some people there, and we spent about an hour with some lady. Turns out, she's a trainer and Mommy was trying to get me to behave...do you believe that?????
Turns out...I was able to make it through the 8 weeks without being too obedient. But...my Mommy is happy because I'm doing so much better with people AND even some dogs!!!! I met a cute little puppy last week and we played a bit.
Anyway, as you can see, after I graduated...they put these funny clothes on me and took pictures. How embarrassing!!!!! Hope I don't have to do that again!

This is a few days late, but we wanted to share with everyone that a little over a year ago, Vienna and her sister Lou Lou were rescued from the shelter by Marianna and Jodi of Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue. Here's the story as told by their foster Mommy Jodi to her fellow TOTT volunteers:
"October 6th was the day that my sweet little U & V puppies came into rescue one year ago. V girl has now become Lee's bratty little Vienna and U girl has passed to the bridge way too early because she could not fight her disease that she was diagnosed with while she was here. We knew she was sick when we took her, and tried everything we could to help her; my heart still breaks for her eveyday. Naji asked me last week to take her to pick a pumpkin and it made me tear up cause all I could think of was Paige and I taking the girls to the pumpkin patch and taking all those pictures of them (our October calendar picture) and me dressing them in pumpkin costumes for Halloween:( Uilleann aka Little Lou is gone but will NEVER be forgotten and I miss her alot. I am making an effort to go visit my Vienna this week and hug her...it is as close as I can get to her sister besides her memories:)"
I will always be thankful to my fellow volunteers at TOTTSHR for bringing Vienna into my life, as well as doing everything possible to help little Lou. She was a special little puppy and I will remember her always.

Wow! What a great day yesterday at Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue's 5th annual Tails on the Trails event. It rained a bit in the morning and was windy all day, but we had a great turnout and made a lot of money so they can continue to help dogs like me.
Mommy said I did great yesterday and she was very proud of me. I was a bit nervous with all those dogs and people around, but I did my best. I was glad to see my TOTT foster Mommy Jodi and her daughter Naji. Mommy Jodi also brought my buddy Kya with her and Auntie Paige brought Nika, so I had some friends to play with. My Grandmom also came over for a bit, and my Pop spent a good part of the day with me.
I was so excited to walk around the main arena with my Pop during the Alumni Review. I can't believe how many other doggies were there that TOTT also helped find new homes. My Pop took me home afterwards because Mommy said I was tired and she needed to help clean up after the event.
While I had a great time, and it was for a good cause, I'm glad it's over so my Mommy and I can spend more time together. She spent a lot of time working on the event and we didn't get to spend a lot of time together. I really think she needs to quit work so she has more time, but she says she needs to work to feed me and make sure I stay healthy. We did cuddle together last night when she got home, took a nap together this afternoon, and spent some time playing in the yard.
Oh, well. Mommy says it's time to eat now, so I gotta go. But before I do, I want to thank all the Dogsters who came to the hike. I didn't see many of you, but my Mommy did and she loved meeting you all. And a big thank you to Dogster for their support!

I love to play!!!! My buddy Rudi tagged me. Here are the rules of the game.
First, make a diary entry that lists 5 PAWSome facts about WOOSelf.
Then, choose 5 pals to tag and list them in your diary entry. Be sure to include the rules of the game. Send your pals a pawmail or rosette telling them they have been tagged to play the game.
Vienna’s 5 facts: I…
1…was rescued from a shelter, with my sister Uilleann, by Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue
2…was adopted by a human that volunteers with the rescue.
3…love cuddling in bed in the morning with my Mommy.
4…had my first grooming appointment last month, and met some cool new people.
5…just celebrated my first birthday 3 weeks ago.
My 5 friends…
1. Kya…Even though she doesn’t like to play with me a lot…she’s still my friend.
2. Fugas…Mommy says he’s a big, lovable dork.
3. Lokai…I don’t know why Mommy calls him Poods, but she thinks he’s pretty cool
4. Buddy…he seems like a real cool dog. I hope I get to meet him at Tails on the Trails in September!
5. Feo Butters Stroud...Mommy says he’s such a sweet old man and he just found his forever home!!!

My Mommy has been very busy working on something called Tails on the Trails...she says it's a real special event. It's the 5th annual fundraising hike and picnic for Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue (TOTTSHR) and will be held at Warminster Community Park in Warminster, PA. You can visit TOTTSHR's website at http://www.siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2007/index.html
Mommy says this is a huge event and raises a lot of money to help dogs like me and my sister Lou Lou. In fact, Mommy registered me for the hike in memory of Lou. So, if you can't join us on September 15, and don't want to be a remote hiker, please consider making a pledge for me!! You can do this at: http://siberescue.com/Common/TailsTrails2007/pledgepaypal.ht ml#Vienna.

The Rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diary “The Rules” and their “7 Pawsome Facts.” Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pawmail that they’ve been tagged and to read your Diary or send them a fun Rosette announcing they’ve been tagged!
Seven Pawsitively Pawsome Facts about Vienna: 1. I get so excited when my Mommy comes home from being away all day. 2. I love playing with tennis balls and rope toys. 3. My Mommy needs to find me really indestructible toys because I love to chew and eat my toys. 4. I love spending time in my big backyard. 5. I love food!!

Wow, what a great weekend. My Mommy came home early on Friday and brought a friend with her. She was real nice...she gave me real good treats. After she stayed awhile, my Mommy took her home and let me ride in the car with them. I then got to meet two boys who were pretty nice too.
On Saturday, Mommy went out for a bit to buy me food, but spent the rest of the day with me...Sunday too. On Saturday, I almost had an extra treat. Two flying things (my Mom calls them birds) were playing and one fell into the fence. I almost had him, but he got away. On Sunday morning, I thought I saw something moving in the ivy and I was so excited because it was a little flying thing. My Mommy was yelling at me, but I didn't care. I had my mouth on him, but he went through the fence...that darn fence again!! I kept waiting for him to come back, but he didn't. Oh well. There's always another day.
Today, Mommy stayed home and kept saying we had visitors coming, but she wouldn't tell me who. At one point, she took me to the door and let me outside...there was another dog in my yard!! At first I was a little scared, but then I realized it was Princess!! And....Mommy Jodi and Naji!!!!! They came to visit and play with me!!! We had a great time running around the yard, playing ball, and eating pizza. Well, they ate pizza; I only had a few pieces of crust.
I'm very tired now, and I'm going to go nap so I can play some more with Mommy later. I hope I have more fun weekends like this!

Vienna's sister Uilleann (Lou Lou) was brought into Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue at the same time as Vienna. The shelter vet diagnosed her with juvenile cellulitis, but after several setbacks, she was taken to a dermatology specialist and was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease.
Sweet little Lou crossed over the bridge last night in her sleep. In her 8 months in rescue, she received all the love and care we could provide, visiting numerous specialists in an effort to manage her disease.
You can read more about Dermatomyositis by visiting Tails of the Tundra's website at http://www.siberescue.com/Available/Uilleann.html.
We've added a picture of little Lou to our page. She may look a little scary, but we thought she was adorable and loved her very much.
Godspeed little Lou. You touched many hearts and will be missed.

My first week with my new Mommy flew by. She didn't go to work and we spent A LOT of time together! My Grandmom and Pop gave me some toys and visited me every day. I also got to meet my Mommy's brother and sister and their families and had visits from some of my Mommy's friends. They all brought me toys that I can play with.
Yesterday, my Mommy had to go back to work. Some loud noisy thing she called an alarm woke us up and I was not happy:( I was lonely and so happy when she came home. I wish she didn't have to go to work, but she says she won't be able to feed me and care for me if she doesn't work.
Mommy and I went to meet the vet tonight. It was scary, but my Mommy was there to comfort me. Everyone there was nice and gave me treats, but I hope I don't have to go back there too soon.
Well, back to my toys! There's so many for me to play with!!

My foster Mommy packed me in the car today along with some of my favorite stuff and took me to my new home. When we got there, I got to run around in the yard and had a lot of fun. Then we went inside and I got to explore some more. We then went back to that scary place called PetSmart where my new Mommy bought me a crate and some more treats. I just love treats!!
My foster Mommy said goodbye and she and Naji left. My Mommy and I went for a little walk and we met some nice people who live next door. After that, it took me a while to settle down and I was REALLY unhappy at being left in the crate while my new Mommy went away for a bit. She did leave me with dinner, but it didn't take me long to inhale that. I sang some songs to pass the time until she came back and let me out.
It's been a long day, and I need to take another nap:) Check back later for more as I settle into my new home.

Today, my foster Mom took me for a long ride and I met some kids and dogs. The kids scared me a bit, and I really didn't like the other dogs too much. I then got in my new Mommy's car with some other people and went to a friend's house. There I met this big fluffy monster who tried to play with me, but since I was scared, I acted like I was really tough. I even managed to get a hunk of hair, but then it really got scary so I hid behind my Mommy. She told me if I was gonna be a witch, I was gonna have to learn to back it up. I don't know what she meant by that, but she said we'd go back to visit the big fluffy monster again, so I guess I better learn.
Then we went to a big scary store. I couldn't believe Mommy and Auntie Heather wanted to take me in there! I didn't want to go, but they put me in the cart and made me. It wasn't too bad, I did get a toy and some treats out of it.
We then went to my future home and I spent time exploring the back yard. Grandmom and Grandpop came home and I was excited to see them. Grandmom even let me spend time in the kitchen while Mommy and Grandpop had dinner. I tried to help but, for some reason, Grandmom didn't like me standing up with my paws on the countertop. I just don't understand humans at times.
Mommy and I went for a walk and tired me out. I had fun, but soon it was time to go back to my foster Mommy. I did take my new toy with me so I can have it until I go back home for good. That's next weekend. It's gonna be a bit scary because my foster Mommy has taken real good care of me and I'm really comfortable at her house.
Check back next week for my diary entry regarding moving day!
