Arrival Story:
Clyde was abandoned when his owners decided to move without him. The terrible people who owned him tried to put him to sleep, and luckily the vet refused (as he is a perfectly healthy and happy dog). So the jerks just moved and left him alone out in the country. Just picked up and left him!. Clyde met up with another neglected dog named Bonnie and they were a team for a couple of years, wandering the countryside together, getting into peoples yards and eating their compost and other assorted edible trash. Then Jennifer moved up to the country and started to take care of Bonnie and Clyde at the farm where she lived. Things were fine for a year until Bonnie started to get sick. In March of 2004 Bonnie was put to sleep with Jennifer by her side, as she had a tumor in her stomach. Clyde was alone again and was upset and lonely. He had never been inside the house or near a city but Jennifer knew that he would be able to adjust just fine as long as he had her. They moved to Belltown in April of 2004 and Clyde has never been better! He is totally house trained now (with the help of a home-made cumberbund worn for about two weeks to teach him how to hold it in!)and is no longer afraid of all the city noises. No one had ever played ball with him or given him a stuffed animal to play with before but these things are now a part of his life. As is seeing all of his friends at the new Belltown dog park (formally Crack Park)and sleeping on his feather bed. Right after moving to the city Jennifer took him to the waterfront to see the water. Clyde had never seen the water or been swimming. Imagine a Lab never seeing the water before! Anyway, that is Clyde's story and he will spend the last years of his life in luxury. It is now November 2006 and Clyde is a little older and slower but is 100% a city dog now and even loves to go driving around in the car! New places are an adventure for him, not terrifying anymore. Yay Clyde!
