Back from Vacation!!

Swimming Swimming!! I went swimming!! I just love the water....Mumma makes me wear a life jacket all the time as we have to swim off a dock! So, now everytime I see it! I KNOW!! Mum always goes into the water, then Daddy lowers me down and I swim to Mum!!! The last time I wanted to jump in by myself!!! RIVER!! No!!!

I barked at a deer!!! Chased some silly squirrels from my deck!! Lazed around on the futon...awww!!! I love rainy days too!!!

My pawrents had some work to do at the cabin. So, of course, I had to supervise!! They are so silly....I had to follow Mum everytime she had to walk across the cabin to get a board! We must have walked 3 miles one day!!! And!! Daddy was knealing down on the floor at my level...I LOVE that!!! Big slurpy kisses up the snozzle!! BOL!!

All in all....a wonderful time!!!

RB: How did you get your name River? How did you come to your furever home?



River: My name….hmmmm…well truly it just came from my Mumma’s imagination! We have a summer home at Lake of the Woods, and that is truly where our hearts live. Mumma wanted some type of name that would reflect something to do with the lake. Now….My Mumma doesn’t have that great an imagination! So, it took her a long time….things came to mind like…..lake…..algae….BOL!! .….fish….none of them seemed to work!! She was driving to work one morning, and drove across the bridge over the Red River….hmmm…!! River might do it!!



RB: The Havanese is pretty uncommon dog? Can you tell me about the breed? What made your parents choose a Havanese?



River: My pawrents always knew they could never been without a furbaby. As my sister Clover was entering her elder years, they began research on many types of pups. Mumma stumbled across a Havanese…and thought….hmmmm…Just the right size!! No shedding!! Friendly!! Mischievous! BOL!! As it turned out, the President of the Havanese Society of Canada lives in our home town! Mumma contacted her; she received scads of information. After a long time, it was decided the Hava Pup would be wonderful addition to the family. After….what seemed….FUREVER! ….they flew to Vancouver BC to pick me up. I was a hit in the airport coming home!!! Special treatment everywhere and by everyone!!!

The Havanese originates in Cuba…of course! and were originally bred for the children of Royalty. I am absolutely the most overly friendly pup ever….and if I see a child!! I nearly turn myself inside out I am so excited!!



RB: You are called Chunky Munky at 11 pounds. Do you love to eat?

River: Favorite Foods?

I am a “big boned” little girl….and a solid little chunky munky....apparently I am 12 pounds now! 




RB: You live in a very cold place. What do you do in the winter?




River: In the winter…..WE HIBERNATE!!! BOL!!

Actually on mild days I like to play on the deck outside and toss around my “Turdles” BOL!!! I pick them up and toss them into the air!!! They hit the windows and bounce off!! At Christmas time, Mum found a frozen “Turdle” in the tree!! BOL!! Ewwwww…except by the time Mumma found it…it wasn’t frozen anymore!



RB: Your family has a summer home on a lake. Do you like to go fishing and swimming?



River: I love the lake! There are so many things to do! Sometimes I am not too keen about the boat ride….hmmm…when the wind is blowing I try and hide in Mum’s jacket! I do have my own life jacket and my pawrents make me wear it all the time!



RB: You are known as a tomboy among your friends. Tell us about things you do that give you that honorable title!

River: BOL!

What??? Me?? jump in the dogarita fountain??? Me?? toss the wedding flowers at the groom? “ stomps paws “ I only ate Sassy Momma’s fishie…I didn’t eat the rest of them! BOL!!!

Oh My Dogness....Guess what??? I was picked as DOG OF THE WEEK
:-O...I was entirely in shock!!! I kept telling Mum to post something, and all she would do is hit the "shock" emoticon!! She is such a goof!!!
I am very honoured HQ would even think about lil ole me!!!

I have so many "thank-you's" to give, and I promise I will visit each and everypup, although I am sure it may take me a few days!! BOL!!

All the pmails, pretties, guestbook signatures!!! the thread Champ started in Plus Fun!! and all the groups too!! I think I was a bit overwhelmed! BOL!!!

PS....can you just say a wee prayer for my pal Maggie # 368999? She isn't feeling too well at the moment and sure could use some love...thanks! You are the best!!!
