Giving kisses, food and treats of course, & playing with my other dogs, & sitting on your lap!

Flies, another dog even thinking about taking his treat, & when you try to get up when he is sitting on you!

Favorite Toy:
Any of the toys scattered all over my house

Favorite Food:
He loves his dog food but loves treats even more

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere and everywhere. He loves going places

Best Tricks:
Catching anything in mid air, and the fact that he actually drops the toy at your feet after he gets it.

Arrival Story:
He was on death row at the shelter. Everyone passed him over cause he had some medical issues. No one wanted to invest the time or care in him. I couldn't let them kill him. He is too great of a dog. After a simple surgery he is doing great!

Remember for every dog that is bought or bred another in a shelter is killed. Over 12 million dogs and cats are killed in the US alone simply because there are not enough homes. Think twice before buying that cute puppy from a store or breeder. They are a huge part of the problem. Always check shelters and breed rescue groups when looking for a new family member. And always have your pet spayed or neutered!!

Forums Motto:
Don't buy while those in shelters die!!

We just found out that Dugan had Acute Leukemia about a week ago and he had to be put to sleep yesterday 6/17/09. It took over his body soo fast. He went from soo happy and healthy and running and playing to getting a little lethargic and not being too interested in his food. In just a matter of days he wouldn't eat and could barely lift his head. It was too fast for me to even comprehend. Dogs with this type of cancer do not make good chemo candidates. They say that only 20 - 30% even respond and it only buys them a couple months. Most die during treatment. I didn't want him to die in a hospital without me. I made sure I was right by his side when they gave him the needle. It's the last act of kindness you can ever do for your dog. I can't believe he is really gone. I feel like this is a horrible nightmare I need to wake up from. Dugan will be soo greatly missed. 1/15/03 - 6/17/09

The biopsy results came back and Dugan is 100% cancer free. The doc was 99% sure he had osteosarcoma(bone cancer). I needed a miracle and I got one! He is such a happy boy.

Dugan's Surgery

Dugan went in for his knee surgery to fix a torn cruciate ligament. Once the vet got in his leg he said it looked suspicious. He thinks he has bone cancer. We have to wait for the biopsy results. If this is the case, he said the leg will have to be removed and only gives him 3 to 6 months to live. I just rescued this dog from death row at the shelter a littlte over a month ago. He finally has a great life and now this. Please keep him in your prayers!
