Likes:
Act a fool!! And loves to cuddle, he thinks he is a lapdog

Pet-Peeves:
Water, swimming, baths, anything that has to do with aqua AND BS-legislation!!

Favorite Toy:
He is not big on toys; he craves attention and is big on how to get your attention!

Favorite Food:
He is a very picky and finicky eater, he doesn’t eat just anything. He mostly just wants whatever chicken or steak you happen to be eating.

Favorite Walk:
Absolutely anywhere! This dog never gets tired!

Best Tricks:
He’s very stubborn, it took sooooo long to teach him to stay down; but he can’t stay down for long because he gets way too excited and anxious, he just has to jump everywhere!

Arrival Story:
I first met Shorty at the Aurora Animal shelter; it was love at first sight. He just shot straight for my arms and stayed cuddled up real close, as if he were giving a big hug. It was hard to get him back in the cage; he just stayed in my arms. The worker got very nervous because he was not allowed to take any pit bulls out of the cages for people to see, let alone hug! The people at the shelter were going to put Shorty down because he was a pit-bull and he was used as a "bait" dog as they stated. Plus the Aurora/Denver animal shelters put to death any pit-bull that they get or have. It's so sad to see rows and rows of the most beautiful smiling faces, and wagging tails, that don't even get a second chance at a happy life based on their breed. Shorty was a lucky one; because he had a good temperament and because I begged the worker for him. So one worker put a transfer in and tipped me off on it. They ended up transferring Shorty to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and a couple months later I could finally adopt him. When I finally got Shorty, he was completely emaciated, and had a huge wound on his neck and bites all over his ears. It took a good month and a half to fatten him up. His ears have healed completely and his fur grows over the wound on his neck (but if you move the fur to one side you can still see a scar from Shorty's horrible pervious life).

Bio:
The people at the shelter were going to put Shorty down solely based on the fact that he was a pit bull terrier and he had been previously used as a "bait" dog. I gave him a second chance at a happy life and it's not fair to think this dog doesn't deserve it. It took two months to get him back to a healthy ideal size. His ears have healed completely and his fur grows over the wound on his neck. Despite Shorty's horrible pervious life and considering the neglect and abuse this dog has suffered since puppyhood; he is desperate for human affection, and only aims to please. He is a big part of our family and I couldn't imagine life with out him.
