Doggie Dynamics:

Quick Bio:

GOING! The jingle of keys is music to Shame's ears. He loves to go in the Jeep, the Suburban, or especially the boat. He also loves playing with his sister or getting scritches behind his ears or on his belly.

Silly ol' kitties that run when you aren't supposed to chase them and darned ol' bunnies at the park that do the same thing!

Favorite Toy:
His dog sister, Abbie Lou! He also likes to play with balls and tug toys or anything that SQUEAKS!!!.

Favorite Food:
Not much variety in life when it comes to food. He gets some duck potato treats he likes. Food is limited due to sister's allergies.

Favorite Walk:
I think he likes splashing around with Abbie Lou the best, so either the lake trails or walking through the fields by Mom's creek.

Best Tricks:
He back-talks my ex-husband any time hubby tells him to do something! Not really a trick, but super-funny!

Arrival Story:
Shame is a sweet, playful goofus I met while doing volunteer work for the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter. I'd taken him on 3 or 4 different adoption outreach events at local PetSmarts. He'd been adopted and returned to the shelter twice, and he's such a sweet guy, I wanted to take him home to see if the problem was with the adopters or the doggy. These people must have been pretty silly...he's a GEM of a doggy! It took him almost a month, but he finally sucked Daddy in (Daddy was SURE we didn't need a second big, hyper doggy!) and is here to stay FOREVER!

We have learned, much to our pleasure, that like his sister Abbie Lou, Shame is a BORN Boat Dog. He loads right up into the bow of the boat now when we finishing romping along the shore, and he sits up, head held high, checking out the scenery as we cruise the lake. He even "guards" the boat, keeping a lookout for any pirates and chuffing at any boats that drive by too close.

Forums Motto:
Gotta watch out for PIRATES!!!!

Lover Boy:
Shame has to be THE most loving dog I've ever met! He gives the best hugs, wrapping his neck around you (along with both front paws and his loooong front legs, if you let him) and just leeeeeaning in for a snuggle.

How I found my mommy...

I was at a scary place. Mom called it dog jail. There were dogs barking all the time, lots of bad smells, and one really big, bad, scary smell that I really didn't like (smelled like doggies who don't come back).

I didn't KNOW Mommy was my mommy at first. I met her a couple of times. She was nice, and she never put me in the too-small crate (I has looooong legs, and some people just put me in a tiny crate when we would go for a ride). She took me to a pet store and told me I would find my family there. She loved on me, and told me I give GREAT dog hugs. When she would put me in the crate again, I'd bark and bark at her to tell her how much I wanted to stay with her, but I'm not sure humans speak Dog that well. She told me she had to take me back to jail, but surely my family would be along soon to get me. After all, I really DO give great dog hugs!

I got adopted one day and thought for SURE that lady was my mommy. I even got to spend the night at her house. But the next day, she took me back to doggy jail. Not sure why, but the daddy at that house wasn't very nice to me.

I met my didn't-know-it-was-Mommy again, and she seemed surpised to see me. She asked another lady, "Didn't Bradley get adopted last week?" and seemed sad for a little while. She got out the nice big crate for me again, and we went to the pet store again for an adoption thingy. She got me out of the crate for lots of loving, and even let me sit on her lap (I don't LOOK like a lap dog...but I sure FEEL like one!).

She seemed sad when she had to take me back to dog jail again.

Another family adopted me, and I was excited! I was SURE this was finally MY family, and I would finally not have to go back to jail. Well, some not-very-good things happened there...things that made me afraid of some men for a while after that. I managed to get away from that family, but then I was lost and all alone!

A scary man in a big truck showed up, and he caught me and shoved me in the truck. I recognized some of the bad smells (smells like fear, hopelessness, and despair...Mom says humans can't smell those things), and sure enough, I was back in dog jail not long after that.

Then, whaddaya know! My didn't-know-it-yet Mommy showed up again! Not sure if she was sick or what, but she didn't look good when she saw me. She smelled sad, too, and her eyes kinda leaked. I tried to be brave for her, but I couldn't help but cower a little when she opened my jail cell. The not-good things had made me a bit more wary of all people (but especially men). Her eyes seemed to leak a bit more, and her voice sounded funny, but I was happy to see her.

She put me in a nice big crate AGAIN, and off to the pet store we went. But again, no family picked me that day. The really nice lady, who usually always talked to us jail doggies in a happy, excited voice, seemed really quiet when we got back to the jail. Her eyes were leaking again, and she gave me a big hug.

I was suprised to see her again so soon, but she showed up again a couple of days later (usually it was longer before she would come back to take me to the petstore to try to find new parents). I was glad to see she looked really happy again. She got me out, and we went into a room at the jail I had never been in before. Then the lady did something kinda scary. All of a sudden, she picked me up! And she put me in this big white bowl, and then she got me all wet! On purpose! I was scared, but she was talking so nicely to me, that I tried to be brave for her and didn't jump out of the big bowl.

After a stop at another pet store, the lady took me to a place with a BIG fenced area. Another lady showed up, and she had a crazy doggy with her. I soon learned that the new lady was the mom of my new mommy, and the crazy dog was gonna be my SISTER!!! YAY!!!!

We met each other there so sister Abbie Lou wouldn't have to defend her house. Then we went HOME together. I didn't know it was home, but Mommy talked to me about it. She said I REALLY needed to love on the He there...that if I got him to love me, too, he could be my forever daddy.

Well, the He took a while, but now he LOVES my special Daddy kisses! (There's a pic on my profile of me smoochin' on Daddy in the boat.)

I love my mommy, my daddy, and my sister-dog, Abbie Lou. I would LOVE to love my kitty siblings, but Mommy doesn't let me snuffle them too much. But best of all, my famiy has a BOAT! Mom says I'm such a natural in the boat, that me and Abbie Lou must be our own special breed. She says we're North American White-toed Boat Dogs.

And Mommy says this is FOREVER, this time! I'm home!
