Dogster HQ and anyone that had a paw in nominating me for Dog of the day, thank you so much for this honor!! Oh man! Look at me in the spotlight! :D
Things have been a little rough with me lately. I don't see or hear as well as before and I get a bit confused at times. You know, getting old isn't that easy on a pup. But I have a great family, and we're working through things.
Thanks again for thinking of me!!

I finally got the results back on my biopsies. The lymph node did have some suspicious cells that looked maybe like lymphoma. More likely than not, the cells just looked funny from the infection that was around it causing degradation of the node. So all we're supposed to do with that for now is just watch for any other lymph node enlargement, which probably won't happen. :)
The toe was cancerous. It came back as squamous cell carcinoma. While it's cancer, it's not necessarily the worst thing ever because generally those just stay put in one area and as long as the whole tumor area is removed, then the likelihood of it spreading isn't too high. The biopsy said there were nice clear margins, so it looks like all of it was removed. I just need to go back for some chest xrays in a few months to make sure it diidn't spread to my lungs. Chest xrays before the surgery were fine, so hopefully the surgery took care of the problems. :D
I'm just kind of taking things easy. I've been able to have my bandage off of my foot for a week now, and it's healing really well. I get the stitches out this weekend. I'm still on some pain meds and antibiotics. I still limp a little, but would be doing much better if that darn Roswell would stop bumping into me!!!!
Thanks for all your kind words and support!!!

Wow! Thanks everyone for all of your support, kind words and gifts. It means a lot to me that you all are so caring! *hugs*
Today I had my operations and things looked maybe a little more promising than initially thought. I still needed to have my toe removed :( but the good news is that it looked more like an internal infection than a cancerous process. I also had a few teeth removed due to pretty nasty infections, and a lymph node too which had an infection around it. Gross! The lymph node and my toe are being sent out for biopsy and we should know the results on that sometime next week.
Right now, I am in recovery, and really enjoying my pain medication. I'll be on some pain meds and antibiotics for a while since the infections were obviously pretty bad. For now, mom's just glad that things are looking at least a little less grim and she's hoping that I'll make a speedy recovery. I'm just hoping this means I get better food and people leave me alone for a while. ;)
I'll keep you updated as things go along here! Thanks again for all the well-wishes and love you're sending me and my family.
