My family Trip this summer

A CAR RIDE? Awesome! Im game for any time i can go go go! we traveled from Minnesota through north dakota Montana down to Yellowstone park over to Idaho and back through Wyoming and south Dakota in 7 days. Man was it fun i was such a good girl and only needed my muzzle once at my aunts house in Idaho i didnt really dig her husband but soon got over it. wow a dogs dream come true a car ride with my whole pack and the stops were crazy all the cool smells and neat places we went to i was in dog heaven. and after 7 days in the car on the road grandpaw asked me if i wanted to go for a ride lol he thought i would be sick of the car silly grandpaw :P hell yes i want to go again!

My Brush With Death

this morning I almost gave Mom a hart attack...every morning I wake Mom up so that I can get my morning snack of raw bones....well this morning mom gave me rwa pork neck bones...I woof them but one of them I swallowed and it became lodged in my throat...I couldnt breath I tried to expell it and then swallow but it wouldnt go anywhere ...I was panicing ...mom was right there with me ...she saw that I was in trouble and tried to do a finger sweep ...she couldnt get it so she did the hymlick on me ...then back to the finger sweep ...well I was turning blue and I started passing out ...mom finaly got a hold of the bone and tried to pull it out...I would not come but it moved and I was able to swallow it ...she could no longer feel it in my throat but I started to weez I was thankfull to get some air finaly and I started comming around ...mom picked me up and ran as fast as she could to the car ...she had her keys in her pocket but forgot her purse and her shoes...she raced me to the Vet ...she didnt realy obey the speed limit...and I was still lathargic when we got to the Vet....my collor was coming back however....they rushed me to a room to look down my throat...they didnt see any thing...then they took exrays of my neck...no bones there either....they told mom to watch me for sings of an Obstruction and gave her medicin to help my throat heal....now mom has to give me soft food for a week no bones...:(...and mom said that she is chopping up my raw for me from now on...:(...she also said something about me causing her an early old age...

Vet check up

I just had my vet check on my knee they took X-rays and I was scared...as soon as the tech came to the waiting room for me I jumped the chairs to get away ...mom had big bug Eyes at this as she has never seen me jump anything.... hee hee hee they said I looked great!...I can resume my active life ...but for the first 4 weeks I will still have time limits on play ...but I will be able to play off leash...:) after 4 weeks I will be able to run with mom as she rides the bike...oh I cant wait I love to run next to mom...XXXOOO

ADOPT 08 CONTEST.....what it means to me

What does adoption mean to me? It means I have food in my belly. It means I have a warm bed to snuggle in with my mom and sister. It means I don't have to starve on the street, or freeze to death out in the elements. (all of which almost happened to me as a puppy).... As you may or May not Know I was picked up by the Animal control in St Paul MN ...I was a 5 to 6 month old puppy and I was so starved and malnourished I still have health issues even a year later. They were going to put me down the Day Mom came to get me she saved me...at that time she called herself my FM ...hee hee hee I always knew she was my mom. The reason no shelter wanted me was because I was so far gone no one had any hope that I would survive....but my mom did and everyone at K9 Crusaders... (at that time the rescue was called Unleashed a group of Dogster moms wanting to foster and save pups from PTD) had Hope for me ( That's how I got my name)....so how could I let them all down? ...I showed everyone how tough I was even as a puppy I was determined to make it. Well Its been a year now that I was rescued and I have a great home and have just had a major surgery on my left knee tomorrow will be 1 week after surgery I am healing nicely and will be going for my first walk today....Mom has nursed me more than I can say....I love her and she loves me All animals deserve what I have, I wish I could give every pup in every shelter a home as wonderful as mine...(That is my dream)...so what does adoption mean to me? it means warm harts, happy bellies, and never being afraid or starving again....Thank you everyone involved in my rescue and support. Without your generosity I would not be here today. I really am a dogster dog!

Home from surgery

well its good to be home....I cant jump up on the couch so mom made me a bed right next to her at the PC...Sadie likes it too and is currently sharing it with me...I am very winy.....but I just went through a big surgery so mom says its ok and is giving me lots of belly rubs....I have to wear a sling around my belly so mom can support me when I go out to pottie...its really embarrassing ...I like my privacy.....the first surgery's total came to 2,841.00 I want to thank everyone who has donated so far we have raised 947.00 for this surgery....I go back in 8 weeks for X-rays and we will have a better Idea at that time as to when I can resume normal activity's....right now it could be any where from 12 to 16 weeks...well Im falling to sleep now so chat later....XXXOOO

I had surgery today

I had the TTA surgery on my left leg today it was very scary going to the vet mom left me there and I didnt like it ....the ladies at the office said I howled all morning long...I went in for surgery at 1:20 PM and mom just called to check up on me the surgery went great I had a total tear of my ACL and now I am very groggy ...mom will be able to pick me up at 9 AM tomarow ...she left instructions with the vets office that if anyone wanted to know about me they could call and ask...there number is (651) 451-4404 I will be out of comission for the dog park for 18 weeks...:( while I heal... thankyou everyone for all your well wishes prayers and donations to help with the cost of this surgery ...only one more to go ...I hope that will be the end of it and I can run with no pain....The surgon is very confidant that I will be as good as new......XXXOOO

my new surgery

well I had my consultation with my new surgeon...he is very nice and he used to be the head surgeon at the university of Minnesota vet school and he really knows his stuff. He told mom that both my knees are messed up and that right now there is no such surgery as artificial knee joints...he said that they are developing this surgery but it will not be available for about 10 years :(...there is a surgery that I do need right now It is the TTA you can look it up online here TTA
each knee will cost $2,800.00 and my first surgery will be at 8 AM next wen. so far cookie sales at Chef Sadie's Bakery and donations have raised 600.00 dollars towards this surgery I can only do one knee at a time the second knee will be done about 4 to 5 months from now....please if you want to make any further donations do not make them to Blue sky animal Hospital ...now my donations will be accepted at:

Bark Busters came today

well I was on my best behavior mom was so impressed with how well I did the lady said that mom is a great pack leader and we just need to tweek some of her skills alittle bit. I realy liked the lady trainer I didnt even need to wear my muzzle after the first 1/2 hour I was not as interested in her as I was all the interesting stuff she had in her bag...I took a new toy out and started chewing it...mom said she would buy it for me cause I had left my mark...heeheehee...I realy wanted to get the big bag of treats but they kept calling me away from the bag of goodies...:( all in all it went very well and mom has some new tricks she can use to teach me to be a better behaved pup..:)

went to the vet today

well we saw my Vet and he said I need new artificial Joints in both my back legs ...and to top it off some how I tore my ACL on my left knee...:( we need to consult with the vet Hospital at the University of MN but we may end up going to the university of Iowa because they are so much cheeper like 1500.00 on average is what my Vet said....I will keep you all up to date and once again I want to thank everyone that has call my Vet with donations for all my surgerys without your support I would not be here today....XXXOOO

update on whats new

we had a lady from Bark buster come to the house to evaluate Hopey...she said that this situation is not Ideal for Hopey (we run a group home for adults with mental dissabilities....they have behaviors and can attack mom...Hopey wants to protect mom and needs to be muzzled all the time and Kenaled all day) but we may with training beable to make it work.....Rob is giving mom 3 to 4 months to make a deccision about Hopey If we are going to keep her or rehome her :....The barkbuster lady said Sadie needs training too cause she is the ring leader and Hopeys instigator.....the cost is 495.00 for Hopey and 150.00 for sadie....this training comes with a gaurantee for life that includs if Hopey is rehomed the guarantee is still good for her new family also....trainning starts next Friday afternoon and we have to have payment at that time or before....also we need to get hopey in to the vet for her annual hartworm test as well as her legs both have been bothering her this last couple months and she has been on pain killers daily...mom thinks that they will recomend both knees be replaced ....:(
