Arrival Story:
We had our first dog and decided to get another dog. So we went to the local Humane society and found Alice and her sister Autumn. The lady at the Humane Society said that Alice could wrap around a coca cola cup. We looked at them and then my Fiance picked up Alice and said, "Isn't she so cute, can we get her and take her home ?" Try saying no to your Fiance holding a dog that is as Cute as Alice, you can't. Something told me that we should adopt her and I am glad we did, several days after we adopted her the humane society put down the entire litter because her sister had Parvo. We found this out from a friend that worked there. Alice would have shown signs of Parvo such as bloody stools, vomiting blood. The main thing is that she is OK and is full of energy. She is 5 years old but at times she can act like a little puppy again. She will take these fits where she will start running and have the other dogs chase her up and down the hallway. Alice has her Canine Good Citizenship,CGC, from the AKC. She is know a Therapy Dog for the Red Cross in Clarksville, IN. We can take her into Nursing Homes, Hospitals, etc... You wouldn't believe how the patients reacts to seeing her and being able to pet her. As they say 'A Dog is a Persons Best Friend" When we have her groomed in the summer we ask for the "Bunny Cut", the reason we call it this is because her body is groomed down, the fur on her head is trimmed. The "Bunny" portion is when they groom her tail, it looks like a big cotton ball, or a Bunny's tail. So we just ask her groomer for the "Bunny Cut". Alice has four sisters, Panda, Cassie, Shadow, and CoCo and two brothers, Odie and Shorty. Pictures soon to be posted.
