Arrival Story: Raba was supposedly rehabilitated by Cesar Millan the "Dog Whisperer" his previous owners could no longer handle him, and he was deemed a "red-zone biter." Since I'm the rescue Coordinator for the Association of Thai Ridgeback Owners & Fanciers and an experienced dog trainer and self taught behaviorist, Cesar gave him to me. He is a very alpha dog, typical of the breed. We're working him in Search and Recovery, maybe some day, he'll be able to help find someone.

Bio: He was born in California, owned by a producer, before he was sent to Cesar Millan for rehabilitaion. He was given to me, by his owners, and now he resides on my farm in Kentucky.

My beloved Mistress did what no responsible person could do. I was given up by my owners, boarded w/the "great" Dog Whisperer for four months, he just passed me on to my Mistress; he told her that I was "fully rehabilitated," when we (he & I) both knew better.
She loved me with all of her heart, made excuses for the way I behaved, and then I did the unspeakable. I turned on the person who loved me most. She knows that I wasn't a bad dog, just that I had people who didn't teach me right from wrong when I was a young pup. Instead, they bought me, and when the "newness" wore off, they passed me along; even my breeder wouldn't take me back.
My Mistress kept me in a loving, enviroment for four years, longer than any other rescue would have. She did everything she knew to do; she is a much better behaviorist than even she knows; for she knows that not all animals are able to be saved, once they reach a certain turning point.
She tried for months to contact that "Whisperer" if you would call him that. He never returned any of her phone calls or emails. She didn't want to do what I thank her for doing. You see I'm no longer in any pain, I'm able to be free, to run and to just be me. I was greated at the Bridge by my Mother, who died an early death because of the tainted dog food recall. I was also greated by my little blue brother who died a few hours after birth.
My Mistresses' wise, old, best friend even greated me; for she knew that her best friend made the best choice for me. She held me in her arms as I drifted off to sleep. I even heard her tell the Vet that she wanted my ashes, and that I wasn't always a bad dog. She accepted me for me; and she loved me to the bitter end, when I betrayed her trust. I didn't want to, but she wasn't listening to me; I had to do, what I did, so that she would let me go.
I say this to you all... not every animal can be saved, many of us are too far gone by the time a loving, caring person comes our way. I know that we will meet again, I will great her lovingly, with my tail wagging, and give her many kisses, because she did what no one else could, she loved me enough to put me out of my misery.
Love always,
Raba
