Favorite Walk:
Katie's never met a walk she didn't like, but she loves her neighborhood, the nearby Mountain-to-Sea Trail, and keeps asking us to take her on a good long hike where she can really stretch her legs. The Appalachian Trail is next!

Best Tricks:
Her best trick is to get her humans to keep putting treats in the Kong because she's so smart she gets them out in seconds.

Arrival Story:
We found the lovely Kate on petfinder.com -- love at first sight -- in anticipation of moving into our new home with its big, dog-ready backyard. Four days after we moved in Kate came to visit. We babysat her for a week and signed the adoption papers that weekend. It was a foregone conclusion that we would keep her. She was found near a highway where some kind folks at a convenience store fed her for a couple of weeks until she walked right up to her foster dad, who lovingly took her in. She was in good hands with her foster parents, and we feel so lucky to have her now. Kate is an amazing dog -- smart, sweet, graceful, and gorgeous. She's never met a stranger. The world is full of love! We love to see her smile.

Bio:
Kate's got the best ears in history. She lays them flat when she's gnawing on her chewflip or running back from fetching her tennis ball, thus "Propellerhead." They perk right up if she hears a squirrel in the backyard, which is when she looks like a true dingo. Other times, they're pulled back, as if she's in a wind tunnel, and she becomes Aerodynamic Dingo, the speediest gal around. She has very strong front paws and she paws at us to remind us of her unending gorgeousness in case we may have looked away for a moment at something else. This is a dog to be admired, and who could resist? Our favorite Kate mode is Loco Dingo, when she turns upside down, lets her tongue droop out of the side of her mouth, and gives us bugged out loco eyes. Oooh, she's a terror.
