Also will "spin" for a piece of kibble. Arrival Story: Gomez is a released guide dog puppy. We were his original raisers and were lucky to be able to get him back. He came to live with us when he was 8 weeks old. He spent 14 months with us. He left us to train at Guiding Eyes For The Blind, but it just wasn't what he wanted to do, so we had the choice to take him back as our own pet. It was quite an easy one to make. We are proud of the time he spent at Guiding Eyes, and feel he gave it all he had. It just wasn't meant to be. We have adopted him from GEB and he is ours forever. Besides earning his CGC (Canine Good Citizen), he also has earned another title here at home. His most important title is CFP (Cherished Family Pet). Bio: Gomez was born at the Guiding Eyes For The Blind Breeding Center. His Dad was Niles, his Mom was Glade. Gomez was released from Guiding Eyes in April. It was like he was sent by Heaven back to us, because our beloved Max crossed the Rainbow Bridge in June. We had hoped Gomez would end up as a guide, but thats not what he wanted, so we are glad he can now be a cherished family pet. He was a big comfort to us, when we needed it most. He now is helping us raise future Guide Dog puppies. So even if he didn't make it as a Guide Dog, he still has a very special purpose here on Earth. I am four years old today! Mom tells me I can't get any older. Four is good. I already had a yummy breakfast. Mom tells me I will have a surprise when she gets home from work. I am one lucky dog!
Mom shared some great news with me and Babe. We're getting a new fur baby! Come Nov., Mom will be raising a second GEB pup along with Babe. Our baby should be born next week. Yes, this means that I get my tail and ears pulled, and will have to share my toys with a third puppy again, but I am excited! I love when the new kids come around, so I can show them the ropes. Babe is turning out to be a good girl, just like Island. I bet this new pup will be so much fun!
