Arrival Story:
How I came to be with my person.... That is a long story involving some complicated financial wheeling and dealing and help from some friends...... Actually I am not at liberty to say more..... Let me just say I am highly valued and did not come to live here easily.

Bio:
I am an vintage dog. I have hunted, pointed, fetched, and protected. When we first moved to the home we are in now there was no fence and rabbits would come and visit every night. Now we have a fence, carport, and no rabbits. I do miss the rabbits. I have seen dear friends come and go. I used to live with two other Gordon's, Hunter and Scout. We were an awesome pack. Hunter true to his name was always hunting.... Scout was watching the skys for birds.... and I had my corner of the yard where I looked for anything that moved. Sadly Hunter went first from cancer in his jaw. Scout followed a short time later with stomach cancer. A few months later my human found a growth on my back that ruptured. The vet suggested surgery. He removed 3 cancerous tumours. That was a year ago. Today I still romp and play. Not bad for a lady of my age. Tesseract passed away the end of December 2008... She is missed.

Oh no not this place!!!!!!

It started out like every other day except for the wrappy stuff on my leg. I am bouncing around and playing with my friend "little man". Some of my favorite humans are over playing in the driveway with my human. Looks like they are digging. I could help with that if they would let me... I am good at that.

I heard my human calling me so I bound in the house and she puts that leather rope thingy on me so I can pull her around. She really likes it when I pull her around. Humans they are so easy to entertain. Any way I am sort of excited cause this means I am going out the front door and Carol is out there. She is my human's friend. I have known her since I was just a baby. I rode in her lap home from my Mom's house.

What is this the human wants me on the porch not the grass. That is strange. Hey wait what are you doing now..... PUT ME DOWN...... One of these days she is gonna drop me. Why did she put me up here on the porch???? Oh see Carol is looking at me oh.... she is taking the wrappy stuff off of me.... That stuff is ucky. Hmmmmm.... still not much blood there, some white goop though.

Whats this back in the house. Hey my human is getting out my going collar.... We are going somewhere with Carol.

I wonder where we are going..... OH NO NOT THIS PLACE>>>>.

This is that place that smells funny and where I get stuck with sharp pointy things. Oh here comes that nice man that all ways pets me.

HEY wait she is lifting me again..... PUT ME DOWN..... that is better on solid surface again. The man, my human calls him "doc", looks at my leg. He steps out a second and comes back with electric trimmers. See no scissors. He shaves off part of my fur on my leg so we can get a good look at what the human did last night.

Doc says that I have to stay over night so he can stitch my skin up. They talk about not putting me asleep to do the stitching. Doc says something about a local..... any ways all the yapping humans do.

Doc takes me back to the kennel area for a while. Later he comes and takes me to his big table. He lifts me up there. He cleans my leg good. He sticks me with sharp pointed things and stitches my leg back together. Then back to the kennel for the night.

This has been quite the day. And now back in this loud smelly place. I wonder what little man is doing at home.

Humans should not play with scissors.

Nope Humans should not be allowed to have scissors.

Monday night my human decided she needed to get all the stickers out of my fur. I had been collecting them for several weeks now. They were all covered in fur and matted in real good.

She got the scissors out and started cutting out the stickers. Well that was alright for a while but this kept going on for hours. She started getting all sweaty and bleery eyed. Not a good sign in a human.

I got up a couple of time to tell her she could stop now but she was determined to cut every last mat. Almost possessed. She was down to one leg so I was good and laid still for more pulling.

She pulled out on my leg fringe got a good hold and snip. The pain shot in me and I turned to look at what she had done. She had cut skin not mat!! My skin was peeled back from my leg.

I could tell from the look on her face that she did not mean to do that. She jumped up and got some wrappy stuff. She laid the flap she cut down. You couldnt hardly tell it was cut. She wrapped it up in the wrappy stuff and then used this clear tape on top of that. It hurt a little when she wrapped it tight. It wasnt bleeding but it sort of stung.

She left me alone and went to bed. Whew every seems back to normal.
