Leave a bone for Milly & Layla

Nicknames:
Milly's nicknames are Milly-Dog, Goofy, Stinky Breath and Layla's nicknames are Sweet Girl, Chica

Quick Bio:
-dog rescue

Likes:
Milly is content with sleeping, cuddling or chewing on bones. Layla loves to be outdoors or chewing on bones. She also likes it when Mommy or Daddy play with her or cuddle.

Pet-Peeves:
Milly does not like to be woken up or forced to go outside when she doesn't want to. She also doesn't like it when Layla takes her bones or chew toys. Layla's hates when she has to get her ears cleaned.

Favorite Toy:
The only toy these spoiled dogs will play with are chewing bones. They have never taken to actual toys, except Milly who loves to chew on my stuffed animals!

Favorite Food:
Their favorite food would have to be people food! Anything off our plates is good to them!

Favorite Walk:
In the backyard! They both love searching for and chasing Lizards!!

Best Tricks:
They are both beggars and will sit on their hind legs for treats! Layla occasionally knows how to "sit".

Arrival Story:
Milly and Layla are both rescue dogs from the local shelter. Each has a very unique story! Layla - I first saw Layla, named after the Eric Clapton song, in the animal shelter when I was taking my 1st dog - Thork, a miniature American Eskimo - to get his rabies shot. They had just brought her in and I fell in love! It would be 7 more days until she was adoptable though! So we waited and waited and called the shelter each day to ask about her status. Finally they told us when she would be available and Joe showed up that morning hours before they even opened! When the doors were unlocked he raced in and got a number! There was one girl who had a number before him but had gotten it "illegally" so she was disqualified from getting the dog which means Joe got her!! We were so excited to have her!! Milly - I had been out of town in Clearwater visiting my family. I went onto the WPB animal shelter's web site and I saw Milly. She was one of the 88 dogs that had been brought in from a local puppy mill that was shut down. I called Joe and made him go get her! She was unable to come home right away because she had some blood problems and other things that needed vet attention. The dogs from this mill had been treated pretty poorly and were all infectious. Finally she could be picked up so Joe went and got her while I stayed with Layla. When he got home with her I fell in love! She was even more precious in real life! Luckily for us Layla loved her too! They got along great! Unfortunately Milly, named after the puppy mill, didn't have use of her back legs but with some work, love and A LOT of attention she can now jump over 2 feet!! Of course now she just gets into more trouble!

Bio:
These two dogs love each other! It is amazing how well they "clicked"!
