Arrival Story:
I had been looking for a low-energy toy breed (so my landlord would approve) male (personal prejudice -- all my childhood dogs were male) dog with a short dark coat (so the hairs wouldn't show on my clothes). Word got out around my workplace that I was looking for a dog, and one of the ladies begged me to come look at a 20lb hyperactive female with a long blonde coat (pretty much the opposite of what I wanted) she had adopted from the shelter and loved but was just a little too much for her to handle. I agreed, convincing myself that if the dog wasn't right for me, I could say no. Yeah right! I went to the lady's house, she called the dog, and what I can only describe as "Hurricane Benji" came barreling down the stairs, lost its footing when it hit the linolium, and skidded into my ankles, nearly taking me down. I knew I wasn't going home without her! The very next day, someone offered me a black male pug which I politely declined.

Bio:
I can't pinpoint a single breed that definitively played a part in the creation of this little beast. I've heard everything from Jack Russel to Schnauzer to Poodle to Westie (errm... a Jack Schnestiepoo?), but the truth of the matter is I think she's mongrel crossed with whatever-jumped-the-fence. I also think there was a wookie involved somewhere along the line. Anyway, she's smart and happy, and she doesn't care that she's not a purebred, so why should I?
