As you may tell from the not-so-many diary entries this year, we've been busy!
We attended a few more local flyball tournaments and I had a lot of fun. I almost have my next flyball title but I've managed to come up with some lameness in my left front leg. Vet thinks it's arthritis, so we haven't been doing anything for the past several weeks. I came up sore just before the last tournament at the end of October and still get a bit gimpy now and again. Not too bad but enough so I'm not doing any agility, disc dog, or flyball for a little while.
In September, I did have fun going to a Rally tournament. I did great, mom said, and earned two legs toward my AKC Rally Novice title. One more leg to go on that. I can definately still do Rally, Mom just has to figure out a convenient time to go to the next trial.
As you may have noticed, we have a new fur brother at my house! Pepper is another Sheltie, like me. He's bigger than me by a couple of inches but we love to play and tussle with each other. It's nice having another Sheltie in the house.
Well, more to follow next month, I'm sure. For now, I hope all of our pup pals and other friends have a happy, safe, and warm holiday season! Cheers!

Well things have been going great. Mom just took me and my brother, Kenny, to Clean Break's March Madness Tournament in Gettysburg, Pa.
This tournament was huge! It had over 400 dogs entered in more than 70 teams. We raced over 360 races during the weekend. It was amazing and a record-breaking tournament for the region where we play.
Our team did fantastic, considering our start dog, Ruby and me are still very much green dogs. I ran clean all weekend until the very last race of the day, when I couldn't help myself any longer and chased the dog in the other lane. Other than that, though, I did my job and really had fun.
Our team ran clean and earned enough points for me to get my next flyball title, Flyball Dog Champion-Silver level (1,000 points).
There's no practice this weekend but we'll be back at it the following weekend. Our next local tournaments are not until the end of May, so we'll see if we go to that when the time comes. Meanwhile, Mom and I are still taking agility lessons and really having fun with that.
That's about it for now. Hope everyone is enjoying some nice spring weather!

This weekend, Mom packed Kenny and me up in the mini-van, loaded the two human children and headed for reported-blizzard conditions in Philly! Why, you might wonder? For flyball, what else? BOL.
The weather wound up a lot better than Mom feared. The location in Pa was in pretty good shape Friday night , despite getting several inches of new snow. The parking lot was a sheet of ice that first night but that didn't stop us from getting all settled in for the weekend. We even had some time for single dog racing (SDR) which is always fun.
Mom is very proud of me...I hung in there for pretty much the whole weekend. The team I was on was fairly speedy and able to go fast enough to get 25 point-runs. Not sure what "points" mean but Mom gets excited about it because she picks up something else called "titles" after we get enough "points". Sounds complicated to me...I just wanna get my ball and maybe chase a border collie, or two!
The local news crew, Channel 6, showed up. I heard one of our Doxie friends was so surprised to see the camera guy, she popped up on the flyball box and just stared at him! That was pretty funny to watch. The nice judge asked the camera guy to step away just a bit and then they re-ran that race. The Doxie did awesome without having to stop to check out a camera guy and her team won that race!
Well, at the end of the weekend, my team had over 700 points, came in 3rd in our division, and were pretty much tired. Tired dogs are always good dogs, you know. I earned enough for my next "title", so now there's new letters at the end of my name. Mom's just glad we're out here together, playing, and having fun. You know, I am too.
Till next time...chase your tails-you might catch it one day!
