Yeah, I don't think that I like this very much. Thinking about skipping next year. When I hear Mom talking about going, I am going to hide. She can take the other two bad ones....Katie and Riley...I ain't going.

The Doctor said that I needed to lose weight. Well, of course. Mom has cut back, almost completely, on the treats, picked up some low fat food...YUCK. The only good thing is that Mom spends 30 minutes in the AM and 30 minutes in the PM throwing the ball to me. And I love the ball....oh, I am going to drop it at her feet. Maybe she will skip Riley's diary and come and throw me the ball. The ball....the ball....the ball......

Happy New Year Everyone!

23 lbs.....that's a whole lotta love

My Precious Amos,

Today is your 3rd birthday and I have been so lucky to have you spend the majority of your time with us, your family. You are my heart, you have filled a void in my heart and I can't imagine what life would have been without you.

I love looking at you ~ you have beautiful eyes. I love the way you lay across my lap while I am working. I love the way you are obessed with your ball. You are a master catcher! I love the way you stay outside with the ball in your mouth because you are not ready to come in. I love the way you bark with the ball in your mouth and I love the way you sleep with your ball. I love the way you groom your ball. I love your kisses, even when your tongue goes up my nose and I love your scent - you smell like a little corn chip.

I love the way your head tilts when I ask you certain questions. I love the way you give me your puppy face when you want to play ball. Those little floppy ears. I love the way your head rounds out and you look like a miniture pit little baby pit.

I will always remember the first time I saw you. You wiggled your way up to the front of that kennel at the shelter. I fell in love instantly. Because I could not bring you home that day, I thought about you all that night and the next day. I could not wait to get you home. I love you dearly and thank God everyday for bringing you into our lives.

Your paw prints are forever on my heart and soul.

I love you my boy....

Mommy's Beggin' Boys.....

Amos taught Riley how to play fetch and Riley taught Amos how to was the sweetest thing I had ever seen Amos do. Amos was laying on his bed, and very slowly, he turned on his back, belly up, put his paw together and started to beg for me to rub his belly.

I told his Daddy about it and sure enough when he got home from work, Amos turned on his belly and started to beg to have his belly rubbed - just like our Riley does......

Mommy and Daddy woke up yesterday morning - they were so excited! They kept singing - Happy Doggie Day!!! It was the annual LA SPCA Dog Day Afternoon!!!!

We headed out to Audubon Park around 11AM and met up with our friends Sam, Dozer and Oscar. It was good to see some familar faces! So many doggie families were there! It was great!!!!! Mommy ran into two friends....Miss Belinda and her beautiful girls, Brody and Sophie. She also ran into Miss Terri with her sweet girl Stella!!!! Miss Belinda said that she was going to join the Fabulous NOLA Walking Pack!!!!

We walked 2 miles around the park and then watched the contests. Daddy said that he was going to teach me how to catch a frisbee and that we would enter next year and win!!!! I am good catching the ball - I love playing ball so the friz should be easy to master.

We saw so many different type of pups, big, giant, and little bitty babies too. The day was perfect. The weather, the people, the doggies...I can't wait until next year!!!

Maddie and Bella ~ a family's greatest gift

Dear Maddie and Bella,

What beautiful creatures you are and how lucky we were to have your here on earth even if it was for a short time. You gave your own lives to save your family ~ you showed what dogs can offer a family and what every family dreams of ~ unconditional love.

We cannot even imagine the grief you family is feeling. We know, in time, their grief will give way to all the beautiful memories shared and that your family holds in their hearts for you both. You are special souls that God put on this earth and we were lucky to have your here.

You will forever be young, you will forever be beautiful and you will forever be loved by all of us ~ even though we have never met.

We will keep your family and the fire fighters that tried their very best to save you in our prayers.

Even though you are now in heaven, we know that you will continue to watch over your special family - so that they will forever be safe.

Furever in our thoughts and prayers,

Katie and Amos

Mommy gave us the greatest treat! I want to share it with everyone!

1 Kong
Peanut Butter
Doggie treats and/or animal cookies/crackers

Place a little peanut butter on the treat and cookies. Place inside the Kong's. Genlty hit the the Kong so that the treats go as far in as possible. Place the Kongs in the freezer overnight.

Mommy gave us our treats tonight and they were YUMMY YUM YUM!!!! AND they lasted a long time!

To clean our Kongs she rinses in the sink and then throws them in the dishwaster. (Then of course it starts all over again!) Mommy thinks that we will eat less treats and last longer because they are frozen goodies!

Katie, Henry and I sure hope that you enjoy it as much we as do!

Good Night!

Amos Jude
