Playing catch, I love my Mommy, playing catch, giving kisses, playing catch, food, playing catch, rides in the car and PLAYING CATCH!!!!

When Mommy or Daddy ignore me, someone taking my Mommy's attention, when Katie or Riley has something to chew on and I want it. AND when my balls rolls under the furniture and I cannot reach it!!

Favorite Toy:
Anything that I can catch!

Favorite Food:
All of it!

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere Mommy will take me!

Best Tricks:
Fetch, strategically placing the ball where I can't reach it, making Daddy get up and then jumping in his spot scoring a spot next to Mommy!!!

Arrival Story:
It was time for me to return to work and I did not want to leave Katie alone. My husband and I went to several shelters in Rapides Parish. The last one we visited was in Alexandria. We walked to the holding area and Amos wiggled his way up to us. I fell in love instantly. The problem was that Amos ran away from his owner and by law they were unable to let us adopt him. We asked for the owners name and address but they would not tell us anything. My husband noticed a paper on the cage and found out the vacinity from where Amos lived. We drove around and asked a couple of people about a lady with a lot of dogs and he found her! She was a breeder and Amos came to her when she bought his mother for breeding. The lady let us pay the fines in exchange for letting us adopt him. We later found out that he had a type of mange that was treatable but if left untreated he would have died. Amos is now a healthy boy and the light of our life! He adds so much laughter, love and joy to our family.

Yeah, I don't think that I like this very much. Thinking about skipping next year. When I hear Mom talking about going, I am going to hide. She can take the other two bad ones....Katie and Riley...I ain't going.

The Doctor said that I needed to lose weight. Well, of course. Mom has cut back, almost completely, on the treats, picked up some low fat food...YUCK. The only good thing is that Mom spends 30 minutes in the AM and 30 minutes in the PM throwing the ball to me. And I love the ball....oh, I am going to drop it at her feet. Maybe she will skip Riley's diary and come and throw me the ball. The ball....the ball....the ball......

Happy New Year Everyone!

My Precious Amos,

Today is your 3rd birthday and I have been so lucky to have you spend the majority of your time with us, your family. You are my heart, you have filled a void in my heart and I can't imagine what life would have been without you.

I love looking at you ~ you have beautiful eyes. I love the way you lay across my lap while I am working. I love the way you are obessed with your ball. You are a master catcher! I love the way you stay outside with the ball in your mouth because you are not ready to come in. I love the way you bark with the ball in your mouth and I love the way you sleep with your ball. I love the way you groom your ball. I love your kisses, even when your tongue goes up my nose and I love your scent - you smell like a little corn chip.

I love the way your head tilts when I ask you certain questions. I love the way you give me your puppy face when you want to play ball. Those little floppy ears. I love the way your head rounds out and you look like a miniture pit little baby pit.

I will always remember the first time I saw you. You wiggled your way up to the front of that kennel at the shelter. I fell in love instantly. Because I could not bring you home that day, I thought about you all that night and the next day. I could not wait to get you home. I love you dearly and thank God everyday for bringing you into our lives.

Your paw prints are forever on my heart and soul.

I love you my boy....
