WooHoo and a huge thanks to all who helped us in the Pepsi voting. We landed in the top 10 so hopefully we will be receiving a the 50k grant from Pepsi. It will be approximately two weeks before Pepsi "officially" released the grant recipients. We will post it the SECOND they notify us. Again, thank you.

Good News/Bad News

The Bad News:
Voting for the April Pepsi Challange ends today & North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue is still in 18th place.
The Good News:
NMAR will automatically be entered in Pepsi's May Challange because of their 18th place ranking.
So, please keep voting. You can vote once per day every day for the whole month of May.
Here's the latest e-mail from NMAR:
Hello Everyone.
We are reaching the end of April and unfortunately it does not look like we will be receiving the Pepsi grant this month (not because of lack of trying). Thank you so much for all that you have done. The good news is that because you kept us near the top, we will automatically be in the running next month.
Our strategy to win in May is that we need all of our votes in as early as possibly this Sat, May 1st. Voting begins at 6am. If we get all our votes in early there is a good chance we will land in the top 10 and if we start out there it will be much easier for us to stay there!!
We also still need more emails to vote so if you have any friends, coworkers and family that you haven’t yet ask please take a moment and check with them, then send them on over to us.

APDT Rally at C2P2 January 9 & 10, 2010

I was LISTENING!
& got another perfect 210 score! That makes 2 perfect 210's!
Mom, however, WASN'T LISTENING!
Or, NOT PAYING ATTENTION!
She missed a sign in not 1 but 3 seperate courses!
Yikes!
I tried to tell her!
But she wasn't LISTENING!
We had a great time though & I am 1 double Q away from ARCHX
Coulda already been there woman
Do I need a new Handler? Hummmm
But no
I don't work well with others so I guess I'm stuck with her :~)

Wiggle Butts New Year's CPE Trial

How much fun is it to have an Agility Trial on New Year's weekend?
Tons!
Highs in the 30s
Lows in the teens
The hoomans were freezing
Us dogs had a blast
Well, maybe the small/short hairs not so much.
Anyhoo it was lots of fun
Mom brought Lacy, TheTwitch with us. Our friend Tristan is her acting handler & doing a great job! Got Miss Lacy several Level2 titles & finished up her Level1, yeah
We stayed with "Aunt" Denise & her pack which is always a blast. Miss Lacy even got her "tude tail" groove going!
We finished Jumpers in almost dark Friday night w/ a Q for me
And
I O’d in 3 out of 4 Standard runs
That’s pawsome since I tend to sometimes have contact issues :~). The dog walk had the new rubber coating which wasn't too skeery but ...... slats too?yikes! Those were skerry first time around & I bailed yikes! After that 1st time? A OK
Anyhoodoodle I'm in all Level 3 now except for Colors, Level 4

The Girls & I are making our plans to visit Disneyworld. I can't wait to see Lacey's ruff blowing in the breeze on the roller-coster! I bet she won't have her "tude tail" going on that ride :~)

Gunny won the 2009 Natural Balance World's Most Amazing Dog. His Mom got to go to the Rose Parade & he won a year's worth of dog food which he's giveing to North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue of course!

He's in another contest, The Bissell MVP Contest & has a chance to win $10,000. for his favorite cause. In Gunny's & NMAR's words the rescue could really use these funds:
Gunny, whom most of you know about, is entered in an MVP voting contest iwth Bissell. The winner of this contest is given TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to donate to a charity of their choice. Of course Gunny's pick would be North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue.
Voting is from January 8, 2010 to January 14, 2010. You can only vote 1x per photo - a winner is elected from each period & moves on to the simi finals.

C2P2's CPE Trial November 14-15, 2009

What a great Trial!
At PBH
We had a blast!
& Wolfie stayed home!
Let me expound…………..
Friday started with Mom loading up the Exploder – I know I’m going when the “doggie” overnite bag gets packed! Mom flung me in the back & said “we’re off”!! & we’re staying with Aunt Denise & her pack – 6 + a visiting pitty mix. Oh yeah, I love staying at Aunt Denise’s.
But ………………..
MOM: First Things First she said. We’re stopping at Cabarrus Arena she said.
ME: What?” I said. Dontcha know I’ll be illegal there? I said. See it was an AKC Cluster with Conformation, Obedience, Rally & Agility. Even with a Mixed Breed AKC Registration I would be illegal at a Cluster I said.
MOM: No matter, we have to pick up Lacy so she can go with us to the CPE Trial. & I want to hang out with Aunt Mary Lou & Madds for a while.
ME: What? Lacy? She’s going with? But how, why, without consulting me?
MOM: She’s entered in the CPE Trial & Aunt Shannon’s son Tristan is running her so she HAS to ride with us. But don’t worry, Aunt Christie has provided 2 rolls of duct tape just in case :)))
So, after much hanging out at the AKC Trial & getting The Twitch loaded into …..My Kennel…… off we went to see Aunt Denise & the now 6 + 1visiting pitty + me & Tran = 9 ……. WOW! YIKES & DOUBLE YIKES!!!
Anyhoo, we got there without incident & not much mumbling from The Twitch – just at stop lights. According to Lace when in the car we should always be in motion or get out.
So ………… it was Crazy when we got to Aunt Denise’s, so much excitement – Mom put us on the huge wrap around deck & said “go run”. & we did sounding like a whole heard of horses, just the 2 of us. Anyhoohowever, Lace was just overwhelmed at first & hid under Mom’s legs. She said she wished she had the video camera cuz no one would believe it. Lace just didn’t like the puppy Gambit at all, tooooooo exuberant for her. Even I had to correct her enthusiasm a couple of times. Chunk, the Pitty is a pretty hard player but we got along ok. Baxter was overwhelmed by it all & retreated to the Dog Room. But a good time was, finally, had by all.
We rode back & forth to the Trial Site – about an hour drive – with Aunt Denise in the back of the truck. Oh calm down everypup, it has a camper shell & even a fan in the pass thru window. Anyhooever, I’m used to this arrangement but the Lace ….well, she was a bit wide eyed at first.
The Trial was lots of fun! I finally got that elusive Standard Q to complete Level 2. We’re working in Level 3 now & as the Cash Cab says: “its litttttttle bit harrrrrdddeeerr”. No kidding.
How did the Wild Child do with Tristan you may, or not ask? ………… Actually she did pawsome – she & Tristan make a great team. They Q’d in most of their runs. Lace even got most of her contacts & no bailing from the top of the A Frame!
Baxter got his first Q ever! He tends to get sooooo overwhelmed but he really had a good time!
Anyhoohowevermore, we continue to make plans for the 2010 CPE Nationals & putting together Team North Carolina with T-shirts too!!!!!!!!
