His name is Kaluha. He is a 10 year old, 7 pound Pomeranian, and cute as a button. In a more humane world, he would have been taken home as a puppy. He would have learned to play and take treats from his master's hand. He would have frolicked and romped, chasing butterflies in a yard, or been taken for regular walks around the block. He would have been someone's sweet, pampered, much loved companion. Instead, Kuluha spent his life in a puppy mill in Lancaster producing puppies for pet stores.

His back is bent, probably from spending too much time in a too small cage. After three weeks in my home, he still would only eat off the floor. Maybe that is because he was used to eating off the ground, maybe it is because it hurt his teeth too badly to eat out of a bowl. He just came from the vet where he was neutered and had 11 teeth pulled. They may have to pull more, but they were afraid that doing it now would shatter his jaw. He does not know how to play with toys and still cowers when you walk near him. He never had a warm lap to snuggle in or a soft hand to pet him. He lived his life with little human contact and no kindness.

Kaluha was our foster for over a year. no one even wanted to look at this poor little soul. Finally, my husband declared that he was ours and his bio was taken off the rescue site.

If there is one person in the world Kaluha trusts, it is his daddy. The world is still a very scary place for Kaluha, but as long as his daddy is there, all is wright with the world. He has stolen daddy's heart as well and it is not unusual to see them sleeping together on the couch.

It is our mission to try to fill the second half od Kaluha's life with enough love to make up for all the the horrors of the first half. It is Kaluha's mission in life to keep his daddy firmly wrapped around his finger.
