Arrival Story:
We found her on a Brittany Rescue web site & drove 2 1/2 hours to see her. We had lost our Cocker spaniel to pancreatitis only a few weeks before, we loved our Cocker very much but wanted a dog with less hair and able to" keep up with us "on our mountain bikes. Kate not only keeps up, she flies ahead of us. She keeps running back to us as if to say "What's taking so long?"

Bio:
We think she was verbally abused and possibly had a shock collar used on her. We lived in an area where fences weren't allowed(ie. gated community), we tried to put in an invisible fence but when the collar was put on her she made a mad dash for the house and was found in a corner trembling so badly I knew that wouldn't work, thus our thinking she'd had a shock collar used on her. When she first came she would hide if my husband spoke too loud and wouldn't play with any toys. We adopted her at the age of 2 1/2 and now she is a totally different dog. She's much happier now and not as timid. She loves carrying around her "baby" (any squeaky toy or article of clothing left on the floor.) Nothing seems to scare Kate any more except firecrackers. And she HATES the camera, every time I bring it out and try to get a picture she acts like she's being punished. Even when I think I'm being sly about it, some how she knows.
