Christmas Gift

So, the other day, mommy and daddy came home and told me that Daddy got Mommy a Christmas gift. He gave me treats and then took me out to the front yard...and that is when I met Noel. We have been having such a great time playng, and I am helping Mommy teach her "sit" and that you go potty outside. I think she has sit down already, and she is only 2 months old...I must be a good teacher!! I am trying to show her the ropes...like DONT CHASE THE CAT!! I think she started to understand that one after Rocky gave her one of his famous left hooks. I am also trying to convince Rocky that he should not hide from Noel...I think I am getting thru to him...I caught hm actually playing with Noel a few minutes ago. OOPPS gotta go..think she needs a lesson on "potty outside"....

Today

When I first got up today, I thought it was going to be a great day, - Mommy and Daddy were both up at the same time -YEAH cuz that usually means it is Saturday again and Mommy wont leave me. So I went over and sat at my dish...she didn't give me any breakfast - odd, but sometimes on Saturdays, she feeds me after her coffee....so I figured we would be playing toy with her coffee, as usual on Saturday mornings...she never sat down for the coffee...just in the shower and ironing, and then she LEFT ME ...said " By Bai, Mamma has to go to work, be good for Daddy" and gave me my kiss..I starting thinking, OK, sometimes she does go to work on Saturdays, and never as long as the other days, so it will be ok...Daddy will feed me....NOPE..but he did get the leash and brought me to the car..... YIPPIE ....I love car rides...then he loaded Rocky in his carrier(for those of you who don't know, Rocky is my feline brother and my best friend, well besides Mommy and Daddy). Being a Border Collie, I am pretty smart so I figured out that since Rocky is coming in the car with us we must be going to the place with the cute girls that give you treats...OK by me. So, they took us from Daddy, he didn't even go in the little room with us this time...VERY WIERD...something was up. They took Rocky one place and me another....they gave me a shot and the next thing I know, I wake up with this cone thing aound my neck, feeling loopy, and my well, you know is sore....the next time I saw Rocky, he had a cone thing too..I wonder if he feels loopy and is sore there too...I heard all the humans saying something about being fixed....FIXED, I don't think we were broken to begin with!!!! Can someone please explain this to me so I an tell Rocky what really happened to us.

I know

I know it has been a while .... so I still haven't taken my CGC test........something happened around here and Mamma put it on the back burner....but she promises we will get back on track with it soon....So it was a great summer..I spent a lot of time up in Maine with my canine cousins Bud & Sage .... when I am there we run, play, and swim!! My human cousin is getting so big, and she even talks now..which kinda stinks cuz Mommy taught her to say NO, SIT and DOWN to me...she doesn't say it to her dogs...no fair. Mommy and Daddy say we might actually move up there, YIPPIE - a loy more room up there for me to be a BC than here in the city....

So, the doorbell keeps ringing tonight...always kids.... they are sayiing something to Mommy... something about treats...I think I remember this from last year, but I never got a treat from them, so I don't think they are hear to give me a treat.

My brother rocky has gotten a lot bigger and is turning out to be a respectable playmate and partner in crime - well as respectable as a kitty can be.

Well thats all for now.I gotta go sit by the door and figure out what all this talk about treats is....and after I figure that out, I will work on why all the neighborhood kids are dressed funny tonight.

Advanced Class

Sorry I haven't written to tell you about advanced class. I was just studing too hard for this one!!

We really didn't learn too much more, just refined everything that we learned in Intermediate. The purpose of this class was to prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test. I really need to pass this test! If I do, I will be able to visit Grammie in the nursing home and she is really looking forward to that (me too). I graduated the class, but I am not too optimistic about the CGC test. I have to bea able to heel or loose leash walk WITH OUT my gentle leader. Being a BC I just want to GO GO GO or heard everyone, so the leash work is very hard for me to grasp. Mama works with me a lot on this and is very patient with me, so I hope I can get it soon so I can make her happy. If anyone knows any tricks of the "trade" on this, feel free to let my Mama know.

OH, we did learn one new trick in advanced class - TOUCH....this one is pretty cool..we work on it all the time and Mama and Daddy are going to turn it into me bringing them things, which will be good because I need a new job arond the house.....putting my toys away, tucking Mama in when she goes to sleep, and being a toy for Rocky the kitten is just not enough for a BC like me.

WOW

well today is graduaton!!!! That is if I pass my final test...I am not worries about it. But I think I am really gonna miss my classmates Buddy and Kona. The good news is that I hopefully will see Kona in the advanced class....can I tell you a secret ..... promise not to tell.... I have a crush on Kona....she is so cute and likes to play!!!

School update

I know I haven't given you any updates on how school has been going...

Most thing were just a review for me..Mom and Dad worked with me so much before I even hit the classroom and since I am pretty smart, I kinda had it all down...

Except this new thing they want me to do "HEAL" ....... this is very hard for me since I just want to go ..... but with the help of my gentle leader I am getting it.

Miss Colleen already gave me the OK for advanced class and we haven't even finished intermediate yet. That is great cux when I finish that I get to take the Canine Good Citizen test....and with any luck, I will pass so I can go visit my Grandma in the rehab canter and then the nursing home when she moves there. Mom said that if I pass the Canine Good Citizen test, she will apply to TDI (Therapy Dogs International) so that maybe I can get a job visiting the kids or elderly in the hospital or long term care homes.

school

Sunday was my first day at school....at first it was kinda boring...I know all that sit, down, stay stuff!! Then the trainer pulled one out of her sleeve : WAIT

Wait? I am a border collie, we don't wait!! I didn't like it much the first few times, but after 3 tries, I got it!!

I love going there..I have some great dogs in my class, but Mommy and Daddy won't let me play with them during class. They say I am supposed to pay attention to the trainer. It is very hard for me!! Maybe after a few more classes I will get used to the distractions!!

Winter Blues

When will winter ever end!! How I miss the dog park and swimming!!

Just the other day, it looked like it was over, and now I get up this morning and that pesky snow is back.

What is a border collie to do??
