Its pouring today. Raining cats! (not cats and dogs!) I hate the rain. Mom had to chase me off the patio to do my thing this morning. I refused, so I followed the house foundation, under the generous overhang, and just took care of things right there, near the foundation. That ought to teach Dad to put the TARP UP NOW!
Mom brought me a new toy last night. That just makes my day. I'd prefer at least one new toy per day because I get bored without new stimulation. She walked in the door, threw several of my toys across the room and told me to "get the duck!" Well now, I already HAD a duckie, but I didn't get confused and grab that. I went right to the duck and brought it back to her. She always acts so surprised and proud, as if I don't do this with EVERY new toy! You'd think she'd be used to it by now. I know the difference between duckie and duck, and I knew I didn't have a duck before, so I just assumed she meant she wanted the new toy when she said duck.
Murphy had no interest in the new toy, which is fine with me, because I wanted to break in the duck myself.
Murphy hasn't been feeling very good. Kind of an upset tummy and not eating his food. I can't imagine NOT eating! Mom puts my food down in the morning and I practically inhale it. Then if no one's watching, I'll go eat Murphy's food. But Mom's wise to me now and picks up Murphy's food if he doesn't eat it. Gees Mom, an energetic Magnificent Miniature Schnauzer girl has GOT to eat!
Hi Diary. This is my very first try at writing. I hope everyone isn't bored with my exploits!
My human just took me and step-brother Murphy, for a walk. Its kind of cool, but its sunny! I saw so many interesting things on afternoon's walk. There was this strange sound, and a lot of people gathered around this tree where the loud noise was coming from. I wanted to go up there and investigate "what's everyone looking at that tree for? I know, PROBABLY A SQUIRREL!" so I started towards it, but just that instant a large branch came crashing to the ground. Don't worry, Mom wouldn't let me get close enough to have been in danger, but let me tell you, I was sure startled by that. Mom said they were taking down a tree? Who'd want to do that? Then where would all the squirrels go?
Then we walked by one of our best human friends, our Aunt Jo's house. Aunt Jo always has treats for us! She doesn't have any dogs herself, but she buys dog treats for Murphy and me. So as we walked by, I suddenly stopped, Mom literally jerked backwards thinking she was walking forward, and I sat at the base of Aunt Jo's drive and whined. And whined. Then Mom let go of the leash and I RAN as fast as lightening, up to Aunt Jo's front door and started barking. Aunt Jo heard me and sure enough, opened the door, let me in the house and got me treats. Murphy and Mom eventually arrived so Murphy got a treat too. Once Jo said "all gone" I was through with her and couldn't wait to get back out to our walk.
We went by my best friend Chloe's house (this white dog a little shorter than me). I sat in front of Chloe's drive for quite a while, but Mom said "nobody's home" and then I left. I sure miss my friend Chloe. I haven't even seen her since our play date last night!
When we got back from our walk, Dad was home and raking leaves in the back yard. Boy was THAT fun! He'd pile the leaves up and I'd tear through them, scattering them behind me! Weeee!!! Dad made me go in the house after a few of those times... He always has to ruin my fun! But he's a good human because then when he came in the house, I got to sit on his lap for some "alone time". No Murphy trying to get his attention!
Well, I think I'm ready for a nap now. Its been a busy day already! Hope all of my pals are having as good a Saturday as me!
