Arrival Story:
I wanted a Boston Terrier because I had one growing up and I think they are the best breed. My husband and I put applications in with some Boston Terrier Rescue Groups but never heard back. We even adopted a mutt from a local animal shelter, but it ended up being a bad fit. Finally we decided to get a puppy and began looking for just the right breeder. We found a great breeder and got on her waiting list. A few months later, we got the call that the pups were born and we could pick out our girl. Ten weeks after that, we drove 10 hours (one way) to pick up Zoey. She was the most adorable puppy I had ever seen and she has been an absolute joy ever since!

Bio:
We were living in the Florida Keys when we got Zoey so we wanted to give her an appropriate "official" AKC name. Her official registered name is "Douthit's Hurricane Zoey". Not only did we have the most active hurricane season ever recorded that year, but she is a little whirling dervish of energy! Her name turned out to be VERY appropriate...

I saw on the dogster homepage that Boston Terriers are the featured breed! They are, of course, the best breed in the whole world! Anyway, I stared strolling through the Bostons on the site to give all of them bones, but there are so many, I am going to have to finish my stroll later. I have to get going, it is time to watch Lost with my mom!!! She just loves that show :)

Whew! My birthday is all over and it was some fun! This morning I got to open my presents and I got great stuff!!! My grandma in PA send me a new outfit and a backpack (for taking snacks to the beach) and my mom and dad got me the greatest, hugest fleece bone. It is as big as I am and I love carrying it around! Usually I can kill the squeaker in my new toys right away, but this one is hanging on! Well, after a long nap and a walk, my mom cooked me a delicious dinner of turkey loaf and then I got to have some yummy birthday cake and blow out the candle! I made a wish, but I can't tell you what it is or it won't come true! I'll give you a hint - I wished that tabby cat that lived here was nicer to me. Oops - guess that hint might be a litte too specific! Well, I am exhausted and my tummy is quite full of delicious homemade goodies. Time to go to bed and tomorrow I can try to kill that new squeaker again!

Pleasant Dreams!!!

My Birthday!

Let me just start out by saying that I am so excited to have my very own page on the 'net for the whole world to see. I mean, why shouldn't everyone be exposed to my beauty and charm (laugh!). In all seriousness, I am just loving my new life here in San Diego. Even though I was born in Florida, I did not like living there very much. It was very hot and humid which meant I didn't get to go outside very much because of my breathing issues (all you other Boston Terriers, Bulldogs, Pugs, etc. know what I mean!). Well, the move was long and difficult, but now that I am all settled with my favorite bed and toys, I am sure I am going to be very happy. I live in a great neighborhood, I have made some new friends, and the weather is so wonderful, I can be outside all the time (well, as much as mom and dad will let me).

Anyway, on to the topic of the hour - my upcoming birthday. Yes, Tuesday is my birthday and I will be two years old. FINALLY a day when the whole world will revolve around me, me, me!!! My kitty "sisters", Ruby and Emma, will be secondary, Tuesday is MY day. Of course, if you ask my parents, they would say that every day in this house is my day, but I beg to differ. All the cat herding and watchdogging is hard work!!! I think my parents are cooking up something special. A special meal, perhaps, even a cake??? And, I just know there are going to be presents - new toys, treats, and a special package arriving from my grandma in Pennsylvania! My parents have done a terrific job of hiding the gifts (if only I weren't so short) so I don't know what I'm getting, but I'm sure there will be photos so I'll be posting them as soon as all the excitement dies down.

Don't you think that since I am seven years older in "dog years" that I should have seven birthdays a year???
