I thought Toffee didn't know what to do when Jouet was in heat since nothing had ever happened in four years of having her. One day, I took Jouet to the vet thinking she had gas. I knew this could be deadly to dogs, so I panicked. When the vet saw her he said "There's nothing wrong, she's just pregnant." So a few weeks later my ex came home to find a puppy smeared against our family room wall. The vet told us that there was no other puppy in Jouet's belly, so this guy was the only one in the litter. Needless to say, I could never have parted with him. He's so cute and tiny!
