Arrival Story:
Chewy followed us home from a walk one day. I posted a found notice in the paper and contacted the local SPCA's to no avail. The SPCA said he was probably dumped behind our local high school, where he began to follow us, because they were often contacted about stray dogs there. Chewy has gone on to the Rainbow Bridge due to declining health. He was put to rest on November 29th, 2010. He will always be loved.

Bio:
Chewy is the most love-able dog. I didn't know this breed was soooo love-able and sweet.

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform all of Chewy's many Dogster pals that he is no longer with us. He had been in gradual failing health, even refusing to go on a walk, which was his most favorite thing to do. While I was away, and family was caring for The Summerville Seven, Chewy was found in the yard, unable to stand
and was rushed to the vet. At approximately 14 years of age and with great swelling of his limbs, the vet determined there was nothing to be done and he was put to rest. He will be greatly missed and I am so very glad that Dogster awarded him D.O.T.W. honors before he left us.
You were rescued from the streets Chewy, and we've loved you for 11 years and ALWAYS WILL. Rest in peace dear pal.

XOXOXO,
(mom) Brenda, & Killer, Lady, Girlie, Miss Millie, Pom Pom & Honey

A BIG woof and thank you to EVERY Dogster and Catster fur who stopped by with congratulations and gifts on my Dogster "Dog Of The Week" week! It sure was fun being fussed over and admired :) I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now, without all the attention, WOOF! :) Again, thanks to everyone; it's a pleasure to be a Dogster with all of YOU! ;)

Can You Believe It?

Can you believe that anyone would abandon me? My beautiful yellow eyes, my sweet disposition........... Yep, it happened and if it had not been for my adopted mom and dad taking their daily walk, I could STILL be on the streets.

I was begging for scraps behind the local high school and I guess I must have known that these two people loved dogs. So, I started following them. As they came up to the highway to cross over, the mom noticed that I was about to follow. She picked me up and carried me to her house, gave me fresh water and food, and called the local SPCA. She also put an ad in the paper, but to no avail. When mom called the SPCA again to inquire if there had been any interest in me, they told her that many dogs are abandoned behind the high school and that I was probably one of them.

In the meantime, I was eating one day and throwing up the next, so I was taken to the vet who diagnosed worms and gave me the treatments I needed. I'm very grateful to mom and dad because they saved me from a hard life on the streets.
