Her latest achievement is catching treats in her mouth. For the longest time, she had no paw-eye coordination.
Arrival Story:
I wanted a dog and saw an ad for Shawdy at the pet store. My friends have a ridgeback and I always liked whippets so I thought she would be an interesting dog. I called Roberta and met Shawdy, and took her home a few weeks later. She's been my girl ever since. She had some issues during the first few weeks. I kennelled her while I was at work and she figured out how to escape. She sometimes has 'separation anxiety' and likes to chew on things but since we got a fenced in yard and a dog door, she is much happier. She likes to protect the house when we aren't home.
Bio:
We say that Shawdy is made of spare dog parts - with her small whippet head and big RR chest and skinny little legs... but somehow it works! She loves to run, especially after small prey. She has 'captured' and 'disposed' of grouse, bunnies, chipmunks, squirrels and this past winter a 15 pound jackrabbit, with the help of Sid.
