Arrival Story:
Maple was from the animal shelter. We got her as a companion to the other dog I had at the time. We wanted to visit with one particular dog, but a family came to take her out and visit with her right before we did. Maple was that dog's kennel-mate and was left alone in the kennel. We had looked over her at first, but the way things transpired, we knew she was meant to be. Visiting with her only confirmed that. She has been a faithful companion ever since.
Bio:
Maple in her middle-age has become much more subdued (wiser!) than her earlier years, and now has become Alpha-dog to her little brother, which is a switch from her previous role as second on the totem pole. She has been a good teacher and companion. Her dormant energy bursts out anytime she hits a trail in the woods. Her current endeavor is to lose a few inches of her middle-age spread!
