Today, 11/20, is my 5th birthday, and my humans have treated me very well so far. Long walk, fun foods, lots of love, presents.
It's not the same though. On my page, just above these entries, you'll see a pic of me and my 2 good girl friends, Bungee and Prescious. Well, Bungee got cancer and had to be put to sleep just a little while ago, and it's difficult for me to understand that she's not there with her little French baret! Her sister misses her a lot and is unhappy, and I try to cheer her up. She is OK with me licking her fsce, but somehow that's not enough.
Does anybody know how I can help her?
Anyway, there's steak tonight, some for me! Birthdays are still good!

No sooner did I get back into shape than I made bad dietary decisions. My friend Bailey eats dead things down there at the beach all the time, and so I tried yesterday, and now I have a tummy ache and am not at all happy. I don't even want the youghurt Mom tries to feed me. I'm SO miserable.
The only consolation is that it's pouring rain today, so I don't miss much, lying on my bed of pain. To think, I was born in November of 2000, and this is the first time I've been this stupid--Mom didn't see me snack either; maybe stealth's not such a good idea?
Does anybody know how to eat all that junk food and not get punished?

I have been grounded for THREE WEEKS!
I was playing at the beach and having a really good time chasing my frisbee when I jumped off something awfully sharp. I cut my left hind foot more than 1/4 inch deep and one really long in two places on a huge barnacle. It was dead already, or I would have crunched it for sushi!
I bled a lot. Mom took me to the vet, who gave me some pills--I love pills (these were green!) because my human pets give them to me rolled up in slices of turkey or ham, so I didn't complain about THAT part--and sent me home to "rest" till I was better. Rest, I tell you! What do these vets think they ARE already. So I didn't listen and now it's three weeks later and Mom says Monday--maybe--if I'm still doing OK with the new, wide scar tissue. I look sorta cool, but sadly I'm standing on it. Folks have to know to lift my paw to admire it.
I can't wait to swim again. And now I'll look out for barnacles!
