   Leave a bone for Olwyn

Nicknames:
None really. My new mum and dad were going to change my name but decided, after getting me home, that Olwyn suited me after all.

Likes:
To be left alone when I'm doing my draught excluder impression! And FOOD!

Pet-Peeves:
That little tyke Deva - she's getting a bit above herself. I've never particularly been keen on other dogs aside from Ben whom I idolise. And I hate my reflection! I always attack myself when I see me.

Favorite Toy:
Well I enjoyed chewing Ben's 'Monster' - it was the first toy I'd ever played with. How was I supposed to know I wasn't meant to chew it to bits? Now it's a soft squeaky Tweety Pie.

Favorite Food:
I've never been known to turn anything down - even pickled onions!

Favorite Walk:
Most times I'd rather stay inside where it's nice and comfortable and dry, but sometimes they drag me out. When they do I usually enjoy it and sometimes can be found bouncing over the grass.

Best Tricks:
Keeping the draughts from getting under the doors.

Arrival Story:
I was a Friskies pet food testing dog in my previous life. However, Friskies decided to move the plant to Holland so there were a few of us put up for adoption with the NCDL - now known as the Dogs Trust. Because we were older (I was almost 9 years old) and had always been kennelled, it wasn't known how we'd be living in a home environment (we weren't even housetrained) so people ignored us. Then my mum came to the kennels with a friend who had just got her own house and was on the lookout for a doggy companion. She (my mum) saw me in the carpark on the last leg of my walk with one of the helpers, just before my mum and friend were due to go home. Her friend had gone to enquire about another dog so she came to pet me, and after hearing my story and seeing that all I wanted was a home and some attention, she arranged for her boyfriend and Ben to come and visit me. Once we'd all met and got on, she came back for the talk with her mum, and took me to my new home. I was the first one to be rehomed - I hope all the others got as lucky as I did!

Bio:
Although I had never been housetrained, my new mum and dad were impressed with how clean I was in the house. I've had a few accidents but now I know what I'm supposed to be doing so they are very few and far between. I love people and children, but am not overly keen on other dogs. Especially those young exhuberant types who's owners let them off the lead and they run up and use my back as a springboard. Leave an old lady alone won't you?! I am much more adjusted to everything now. When I first got to my new home, I was like a puppy, so they said. I'd watch flowers swaying in the breeze with total fascination. I was scared of prams, cycles, motorbikes, cars and lorries. I had no idea about heights - I'd just step off a curb without realising there was a drop the other side. This wasn't so much a problem while out on walks but the garden they had at the time had the lawn area banked up and was about 4-5 ft high. One day I walked straight off the lawn area and fell to the patio - how was I to know the ground would just give way? My dad then built a low fence so I couldn't do it again.
