Arrival Story:
Update as of 02/07/08--we lost our appeal with the vet board over the vets negligence causing the death of our baby. We fully expected to lose because you cant have peers monitoring peers, and the vet board here is comprised of 5 vets and 2 consumers. The most disturbing aspect is that they had written proof in front of them, but they still erred on the side of the vet. Again, peers should never oversee peers, or the board should be comprised equally of professionals and consumers. My only saving thought is that this vet becomes more diligent in his work so no one else has to go through what we did, and lose their baby so tragically and before her/his time. I had Torre for almost 12 years until her unexpected death on February 18, 2007. My sister bought her as a puppy only to find out my niece was allergic to dogs, so I took her and added her to my family of two boxers. It is our desire that she always be remembered, she gave so much love and she is missed terribly. As one can see by the pictures, Torre loved all her "siblings and friends" but she knew she was the boss dog, and made sure everyone knew it. I will never forget trying to figure out who was eating the chair, and setting up a camera to see if her boxers sisters were mad because of the new addition [which is what we suspected.] A video set up for an hour proved how wrong were were..........15 seconds of all the babies at the window watching me leave, then Torre started ripping into the chair. She knew it was the sisters chair that they liked to sleep in and she was determined to make it hers or destroy it. At one point the boxer babies went their own way and it took a while for Torre to realize they were gone......then you see her coming towards the camera and corralling them back to the scene of the crime......by god, she was eating their chair, and they were going to watch!! Good thing her sisters had fantastic temperaments, or they would have eaten Torre in one bite! My father remembers after his baby died, and he got a new one a while later.......a very large black lab. Torres first visit, and she actually attacked the lab......that was HER grandpa and no other dog belonged there!!! They eventually became friends, but on the first visit she was so aggressive that I had to take her home. God, how I miss that little girl........not a day goes by that I dont think of her...and think about the wonderful times we had, about her having to get used to my husbands cat. First cat meeting was with my then future, now present husbands cat who liked to terrorize Torre by hanging out under the coffee table and swiping at her as she went by. Torre would walk along the wall to get to where she was going just to avoid the coffee table. They became great friends though, and when Dancer was added, Torre became the guardian for the Shadow kitty. I would give anything to have her back........there is a hole in my heart, filled only with her...........

Bio:
Torre was born on March 12, 1995, and was raised with two Boxers who predeeded her in death. At the time of her death she had a kitty sibling [Shadow] and an English Springer Spaniel sibling [Dancer] She is gone physically from our lives now although she is still with me in a different physical form since she was cremated. We could not bear to have her any further than she already is. I have a reminder every day of the love she gave, and the joy she brought to us.

Torre left our family on February 18, 2007, and I want everyone in the world to know what a special family member she was. She outlived several "siblings" and she will be in the hearts of her family and extended family forever. We all have different fond memories of her.......she touched my heart and soul like no other could ever do. She settled in and accepted having a daddy, begrudgingly at first, until she realized that he was even more easily wrapped around her paw than was Mom. She owns my heart.....she lives forever.
