Arrival Story:
My boyfriend and I felt it was time to get a dog so our search began. We went to a few local shelters but didn't find what we were looking for. I grew up with a shepherd mix and wanted a dog with similar traits. Finally we decided to search petfinder and found a litter of shepherd mix pups about 3 months old. I quickly emailed them and recieved a phone call from the organization shortly after. I spoke to a woman with a thick southern accent and she accepted my application, I got to adopt the black and tan pup! I know this is not the best way to go about adopting a dog, but I have no regrets thus far. Anyway, Mason was in Arkansas and had to travel all the way to Connecticut to reach me. He was in a small truck filled with about 20 dogs I'd say and we met at a truck stop. The woman in charge quickly pulled him out of his crate and put him in my arms. He was a mere 20 lbs at the time. He was so small and scrawny and seemed a little disoriented which was understandable. From there I had to drive all the way back to Vermont where I lived with my boyfriend. Mason slept peacefully in a crate in the backseat. What a long trip!

Bio:
Mason currently resides with us in Vermont. He loves to play with other dogs although he can get a little rough sometimes. Mason will also do anything for a treat, he loves to learn and loves to please. He is very shy among new people but I've found that he quickly becomes curious if given his space.
