Arrival Story:
I was a lurker on Petfinder.com, wanting a dog for years but finding a million reasons not to get one. When Abbe's picture came up in a small dog rescue (her name was Athena then), I knew in my gut "there's my dog." I put in my adoption application, was interviewed three times, felt for sure I had "failed," and then was called to come meet her and pick her up! Her parents had been brought into rescue from California, so the litter was born in foster care, happy and healthy.
Bio:
Abbe is a short-haired havanese, a breed that looks much different from the standard long-haired variety. My vet said she looks like "a golden retriever in a dachshund suit!"
