A Pit Bull Poem

I'm a Pit Bull.
I sit by the street
and see all who pass my loving seat.

The grass is worn,
I've sat here days...
Waiting for that that will change my ways.

I mean no harm
Yet here I sit...
Not one person have I ever bit.

News travels fast...
I'm known 'round town
Yes, my breed has made me quite renown.

"Pit Bull," says he.
"Don't get attached!
I wish the pound that dog they might catch!"

I keep going
I try to show
that I can love, and that love will grow.

All I can do
Is sit here, wait
For that human, that human great.

One day she comes
With dog at side!
Oh, I was so excited... I cried!

Yes, it was her.
She'd heard of me!
She came over and she set me free!

Free from that world,
That state of mind
Which kept me from any good and kind.

Word spread again
but not of me.
Of my owner taking me, you see...

People are bad
I've learned this now...
Oh, now it's very clear to me how...

..All Pit Bulls die...
...all Rottweilers...
... Dobermans, Chows, Shepherds, and others...

All innocent,
creatures of God!
People live a world of lies and fraud!

Pit Bulls like me
are by the street.
Waiting for their human soon to meet.

You may be they
so pleasured to
be the human the Pit Bull will choose.

It's waaaaaaaay too hot out!!

Today it was probably around 100 degrees. And tomorrow and the next day it's supposed to be HOTTER.
I really don't do well in the heat, and neither does Mom. It sort of drains out any energy, so we spend a lot of our day reading or on the computer.
Right now fall and winter sound good... the summer is getting a bit boring, and fall and winter will have bearable temperatures.
Mom was thinking that we should totally have a sprinkler party on one of the hottest days, and fill a kiddie pool up with ice, and like sit in it and drink sparkling pomegranate and green tea.

There's only about a month of summer vacation left!!
For those going to school in the fall.... use it well!!! xD

XOXOXOXOXO,
Daisy

Heyyy!!! Guess who turned 7 today!?

I DID!!!
And thank you to all the pups who sent pmails and rosettes, you're pawsome!!!

And I had a good woofday too. It was too hot to go for a walk, but we did drive over to a truck mexican (trucks that serve mexican food.) and got me a yummy chicken taco!! It was sooo good!
But of course it was gone in about 30 seconds, BOL!!

And mom also (tried to) draw a picture of me, but there isn't really much to it because I moved before she could finish, BOL!

And also, Mom wants to become an artist, and she finds that dogs are especially fun to draw, so if you want her to draw a picture of one of your pups, she'd be happy too!!
(this isn't for money or anything of course, she just wants to practice drawing doggies ;)

So that's my birthday.
Daddad is having his birthday party tomorrow, so there will be lots of guests (and food!) in our backyard, which will be exciting!!
XOXOXOXO,
Daisy

Okay.. wow, I haven't posted a diary entry in for-ev-arrrr.... I'll have to do something about that.
Anyways, we got some baby chickens!!! Actually, we got them on May 3rd, so they've been with us for several weeks.
They're really really cute!!
Unfortunately, we lost one of them. Grrr... predatory instincts. :'(

...

Anyway, so they're really cute, and they're now at the sort of awkward stage where they are getting all their feathers, and getting bigger!

We still need to build a chicken coop for them, though. :)

OMD, I haven't been on in soooooooo long!

XD So, yeah, I've been hopping around a bit, so much has changed! So now, I'm going to be posting in forums, in groups, updating my pawge more then ever! Right now Mom is working on a total page makeover/ group cleanout. XD Good luck, Mom.
I'm looking forward to seeing all my old pals, and of course making new ones!

We're puppysitting a friends puppy for the weekend. Mom was all excited and was like "2 days! yay!" I'm not so enthusiastic, though. The puppy Lola keeps barking and wanting to play with me. 2 whole days! Do you know how much that is in dog years? That's like the equivilent of 2 weeks!
Anyway, Lola is really cute and Mom is glad we get to puppysit her.
We might have pictures soon!

I got a squeaky toy for Christmas from Eddie Essig, and I loved the toy so much I kind of killed it. Anyway, Mommy took the time to sew Mr. Bone all up and now he's as good as new! (Not really, Mom's not exactly talented when it comes to sewing.) Now I get to squeak him and tear him up and eat the stuffing! *drools*
I love my Mom.
BOL!

Christian the Lion

Mommy got an email from someone at the snoops with a link for a video about a lion named Christian.
Two men bought a lion cub in London, and named him Christian. They were allowed to exercise him in the front yard of the church. Sadly, after a while he got to big to live with them and they decided that the best thing for him would be to reintroduce him into the wild.

One year later, they decided to go visit him in Kenya, Africa. People told them that Christian wouldn't be able to reconize them, but they decided to go anyways.
This video is of them and Christian meeting for the first time in a whole year!
Mommy cried when she saw this video, so you might want to get a tissue box just in case.

Mommy is finally back from vacation! She's been gone for 3 whole weeks and you have no idea how long that is in beagle years! I'm glad Mommy is back and she seems very glad to see me! She smells of so many interesting things, the smells on her alone can tell where she's been and what she did there.

Mommy is off on vacation!

Mommy is off on vacation for 3 WHOLE WEEKS while I have to stay back at Camp McArthur. I guess it's better then having to go on an airplane! Camp McArthur is really fun and I even got to go to Mt Hood! That was really fun. Mommy says that it has been fun over in Vermont where she is for a week. She got to go to Phil and Flora'swedding (Phil is her Uncle) It was fun, and we were lucky because there were no thunderstorms. The reception was fun(good food). Mom's dad said that if she told everyone to get in a group hug they would because they were drunk enough. Mom DID tell them to get in a group hug and apparently they were drunk enough. Over at her Gramma's house there are two old dogs Peaches and Pumpkin who are really cute. On Tuesday she will be leaving for Minnesota to visit Gramma on the other side of the family!
I'll right later, I think it's dinner time!!

(To see more of these 'phil' and 'flora' people you can go to www.winterpills.com...but it's up to you to guess who is who.)

Gettin' in shape fur the doggie dash! (in you dreams.)

March 13th 2008 8:18 pm

The doggie dash is coming up on May 10th! It's a really fun event that raises money for the Oregon Humane Society. Mom has been going two years and this will be her third. This year she wants to run it-- but Mom, I'm not a runner. You know my way of losing weight: sit in front of the fireplace and boil it off. Mom is now doing this ridiculous process for me getting fir for the dash where every day before and after school, she will have me jog around the block. But like I said, I'm not a runner, so I just lag behind, stick out my belly flab as far as it will go, make grunty sounds and limp. Mom says I'm embarrassing her but she doesn't know how much I'M embarrassed by her trying to run! Hoomans are weird.

Mom: It's not ridiculous! You just act.... phat.
Daisy: Mom, it's not phat, it's innocent.
Mom: Innocent?
Daisy: Yeah, when people see you dragging your poor limping dog, they think your a mean owner.
Mom: But you don't go faster then a fast walk!
Daisy: Ah, but it's a FAST walk.
Mom: But you walk sideways.
Daisy: It's a beagle thing.
Mom: Don't you have something to do?
Daisy: Can you get out of my diary now??

Fun in the snow

Today we went on a trip to Mt. Hood where we got to play in the snow. I've seen snow this, but never this much. I went crashing through the snow, and sometimes sink into it, but overall it was really fun. Then Mom and Natalie went inner-tubing down a hill. I got really freaked out and started chasing the tubes. Mom says I was like an overprotective hen. One time Mom's inner-tube fell into a small pit and I ran right past her because I didn't notice! I spent about half an hour going up and down the hill, and by the time our trip was done I was pooped. I slept the whole way home!

My Tail of Devotion for Daisy Muddypaws

December 19th 2007 6:39 pm

I have been a dog fanatic since I was really little. I had a dog birthday party when I was about 3 or 4. I know that Daisy will always be special to me because she would be my first dog-- EVER. I had been nagging my parents for a dog for a long time. Finaly they gave in, under 3 conditions, the dog had to be small, short haired, and female. (And of course friendly) They decided on a beagle and one day Dad took me to the animal shelter where I met my first love-- a golden retriever name Kaitlen. Sadly, he was against all of the "rules" He was big, long-haired, and male. We had to leave him. A while later we went to a person who breeds beagles to pick out a puppy. She took out the 2 girls for us to play with. I got attached to the first puppy that came up to me. After a couple of hours of deciding, who chose the one with no white on her face and 2 cute white lines on her butt. It wasn't the first one that had come up to me, but, being 7, I just wanted one of the puppies! We took her home and named her Daisy. On her first night she did not cry at all, just threw up and started to lick it. Hence, we got introduced to puppy-hood. Our carpet had been piddled on so many times that we had to get it replaced. Daisy also enjoyed trying to eat Natalies pigtails. At first Natalie hated Daisy and insisted that we sell her. But I loved Daisy too much and we kept her.

Now we've had her for 5 years and Daisy is getting more white on her face. We probably have more pictures of her then we have of our family. Daisy has gone through a lot, but she is still overjoyed to see us whenever we walk through the door.

This is a special Tail of Devotion

Winter is Here!!

Winter is here in Portland! Which means it is very, very wet. We've been getting a lot of rain and a lot of cold, but Mom gives me walks anyway. We just finished celebrating Hanukkah, which was really fun. Tomarrow there is a river festival at Mom's school, and she is going to have different shifts in it such as serving tea and coffee, helping with a game, and running around in a salmon suit for half an hour. Yes, Mom's school is very different then others. I'm enjoying life here; today Mom took me to the retirement home where I got to get petted and I got to show off my toy. It was really fun. After that we ran all the way home in the dark, which I think is very fun. Right now MomMom is making dinner- so i have to be right there right now!!!
Bye!!
