Favorite Toy: abc tennis balls and the very old squirrel squeaky toy Favorite Food: croutons Favorite Walk: the dog park Arrival Story: Max is the third rescue dog in our house and we finally feel complete! Max’s Mother was a black lab who was brought into the Humane Society as a stray with all of her puppies. Max was about 6 weeks old when we saw him at the shelter with one of his brothers. We looked in his eyes and fell for him immediately. It’s been love ever since! Our only sadness is that we couldn’t take home both pups, but glad for whoever is lucky enough to have the companionship of Maxwell’s brother! Still just a pup!
Half Kodi's age. HALF!
Good thing he's hanging around, I've still got a lot to learn about life.
I had a wonderful birthday cuz all the peeps were home and on vacation to celebrate with me!
Those are my favorite days.
We went on lots of walks,
had extra treats,
naps,
playtimes,
visited relatives who also gave me extra holiday fudz (I especially liked the Ham Sammiches from grampa!)
so many rides in the car, I can't even count them all!
We slept in,
we got new toys,
it was just a non-stop pawty.
now mom is back to the grind and Dad is on vacation - woohoo, best week ever!
He bought us a special bag of pupperonis for this momentous vacation week.
I've got it.
Now I just need the spring weather!
We had a very rainy morning today
and since the peeps like to get us walking early, we all went out in the downpour
About halfway through our 1/4 mile walk, I got tired of the rain and just wanted to walk back to the car.
blah. boo for rain.
So, later on, we're all moping around the house when all of a sudden, the sun came out!
The peeps said, let's put on our rain boots and go fur a hike
WAHOOOO!!!
(Dad wanted to leave us at home can you imagine?!?!? but we all piled in the car and went with)
A second walk, and it was muddy, and wet, and so much fun, pals!
The path we walked on was like a river
and there were lakes and ponds and flooded areas the whole way.
Howevfur, Dad was trying to take pictures of wildlife (we're not wild enuff, I guess BOL), so I had to practice heeling
Heeling + Spring fever = me getting in trouble more often than not BOL!
Dad has given me a new nickname...a few new nicknames:
Black Death
Grim Reaper and his favorite,
the Black Plague; bringing death far and wide.
It's been quite a week, pals, quite a week.
In one day, I almost took down a 13 lined ground skwerl while we were out hiking around
(I woulda finished him off except fur mom and dad got in the way! and saved the little menace)
after that, we drove home and there was a regular skwerl in the neighbor's yard
I blew outta the car, the chase was ON!
He spotted me and took off across the neighbor's backyard with me hot on his heels
he pulled a surprise hairpin turn and went up on the neighbor's deck
at this point, I heard the peeps (well, just mom, really...I think I heard Dad cheering me on but maybe that's just the adrenaline) calling me, so I turned and sauntered back towards my own house
It just so happened that the skwerl raced across the neighbors deck back towards my house!!!
All I saw was flying skwerl when he jumped off the deck and landed in the grass Right in front of me OMD!!!
He flew across our driveway and front yard and scrambled up our tree
At that point the chase ended, cuz I haven't learned to climb trees yet.
I'll tell you what, pals, it's spring and I've got a taste fur blood.
I don't go for leisurely walks anymore, I keep my nose to the grindstone,
ever watchful fur skwerls of any kind.
Black Plague. watch out, skwerls, I'm comin' fur ya.
