Likes:
getting all the other dogs in the house to agree that she is Alpha

Pet-Peeves:
When another dog gets attention first; getting her weekly allergy shot

Favorite Toy:
Stuffed squirrel

Favorite Food:
raw broccoli

Favorite Walk:
she will go to the local forest preserve but she prefers to sit at home in the sun- she was found abandoned in the woods, so she has had enough of the outdoors!

Best Tricks:
she doesn;t need to do tricks- she trains her humans to jump at her command

Arrival Story:
Bitsy was found by the nice people at Animal Control, abandoned and left to die in coyote country in the woods of northern Lake County during a bitter cold ( below zero) snap. She was skin and bones, missing hair, almost deaf from ear infections, frostbitten, and heartworm positive. The nice lady at Animal Control caught her, took her to her own vet, and paid to keep Bitsy in intensive care for weeks until she was well enough to go into foster care to be treated for heartworm, gain weight, fix skin problems, allergies, etc. I was the lucky foster mom, and I kept her!

Bio:
Bitsy later developed juvenile cataracts and went blind until the great doctors at Eye Clinic for Animals in Wheeling performed cataract surgery. Now she has great vision! The better to watch her brothers and sisters and make sure they don't get any treats she isn't getting! Unfortunately, bad genetics ( Bitsy was the product of a puppy mill) caught up to my beloved Bitsy and she died of kidney disease over Thanksgiving 2007. Goodbye, sweet girl!
