Boredom and when my sister tries to take my squeaky toys away from me.
Squeaky balls and just about any other toy that squeaks
Bananas and pig ears
Anywhere-especially if I'm running
"say please", shake, crawl... mostly basics
We had just started our search for our first dog in years. We went to the rescue and walked around looking at all the dogs they had. It was set up so that visitors could not get any closer to the cage than about 5 feet away. When we got to Abbi's kennel she pressed herself up against the bars (as if trying to get closer to us) and starting giving us "puppy-dog eyes". This look screamed "Look at how adorable I am! Don't you want to bring poor little me home?!" Well... YES we did!! It turns out that she had been transfered from another shelter so there was no information on her backround (She was already about 6-7 months old). She had been adopted once prior and brought back because she wasn't the "right fit". Which had to be true because she was OUR right fit!
Abbi came with many trust issues, severe separtation anxiety, and 6 months later was diagnosed with glaucoma (at just 1 year of age!!)... but she has a funny and delightful personality. She is very smart (if also a bit up tight) so she keeps us on our toes and working with her is very rewarding-and so are the snuggles. She is lively and always looking for some one to help entertain her. We have since added a second dog to our pack and she is happy as a clam to have another canine companion full time.
Play with me NOW!
