Update on Patches Seizures

Patches crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge on December 20, 2008 about 11:25 P.M. Patches started having seizures at 8: 00 p.m. Friday night, December 19, 2008 and she continued to seize until put to sleep despite seeing two veteranians and some drug intervention. She was never fully conscious again after the seizures started. She was a beautiful, brilliant dog who we miss so much already. We are glad that she had 20 months between her first bout of seizures and this one. We knew that we were probably on borrowed time and that we should enjoy each time she begged for bones or gave nose kisses that it was a gift. She was a one of a kind dog that will never be replaced in our hearts. We can't wait to see her come bounding across the Rainbow Bridge when that time comes. She no longer has to suffer with the seizures that caused us to put her to sleep.

I haven't had anymore seizures since April. In some ways I'm a different dog. I don't play with my ball or sock,I sleep a lot, I don't howell at sirens and I am hungry all the time. I don't know if it's the medication or if the seizures done something to my brain. Other than that I'm in good health.
