Quick Bio:
-purebred

Birthday:
December 10th 2003

Likes:
Walks, playing ball, playing frisbee, swimming, hiking, camping, agility, doing tricks, littler dogs

Pet-Peeves:
Dogs that get up in my face, or push me around...also dogs that are too hyper (that I'm not familiar with) I can't stand. I tell those dogs off (bark at them XD)

Favorite Toy:
Tennis balls hands down!

Favorite Food:
I'm a little picky-it depends on the human food, although I don't get a lot of it (not as much as I'd like!)-I just get a treat here and there. Favorites are of course meats, cheeses, ice cream, and some milk. My favorite dog treat is Pupperoni

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere where I'm with my human and that is away from rural areas

Best Tricks:
Take a Bow, Shame on You, Take off my socks, Sit Pretty, Beg (I put my head either on my human's leg or next to her leg-it's the cutest thing ever! ;D)

Arrival Story:
Originally, my aunt was looking for a Blue Heeler puppy. We just went along to see them. We weren't going to get a puppy (we had two older dogs already that were my parent's dogs), but after we saw the litter, we had to have one. When we called, the pup we wanted was already reserved. But my brother and I each wanted a puppy. So we picked one, after a great deal of convincing our mother that we needed two more dogs in the homestead. In the end we brought home two puppies-one was my brother's and the little girl was mine.

Bio:
I'm now about seven years old. I'm such a big baby! (According to my human) I can be mellow whenever but am just as happy being hyper as well. Whether it be sleeping next to my person on the couch or out running around, I'm pretty much an easy-going pup. I'm also a very amiable dog, loving, and highly intelligent-very easy to train. It takes some time, but once I figure out what my person is asking of me, I catch on quickly and am very eager to repeat the action-anything for a tasty tidbit or toy ^.^ Once I smell some food, I begin offering behavior before my person even gets the food and clicker ready for the training session!

College Dog

I'm a smart dog, and I can prove it-I'm going to a University with my human! Okay, so I'M not really going to college (my human is), but I'm with her! I'm so excited about that, although I do miss my brothers Jack and Skip, my new sister Ash, and my kitty friends-Xen and Zeta. However, I have a new friend and apartment-mate named Oaklin. He's not too bad, but he's twice as big as me and since he's still a puppy he has a problem with chilling for too long! I shall teach him in time :D

This will be my second semester at college with my person. Last semester we lived with some other people and they had a Mini Dachshund named Delilah. She was fun to play with and wasn't that bad, but I prefer this place much more (I get my own room and the people here are so much nicer!).

Since my last diary, I passed my CGC Test (Canine Good Citizen), so I have that certification. I've also taken a basic agility course with my person (the instructor told us we were way advanced for that class! [Thanks to a little backyard agility that my human did with me, I knew most of the obstacles and was comfortable with them.]). The only obstacles I'm still unsure about are the weave poles, and the collapsed tunnel, but I know with a little practice and diligence, I'll soon get those as well. I've also joined the local agility club where I live now =) The next step for me is to do another agility class and look into Therapy Dog work (I'm still working on my socialization as I prefer to act like Velcro only with my person).

Every day my girl takes me to the dog park. She says I've become so much better around other dogs! (Though I'm still not so sure about other dogs) If they get too pushy or barge into my face, I really don't appreciate it and I let those dogs know it. However, then I get mildly scolded, which I really don't like. And it's not fair, because THEY don't know how to be polite and greet another dog properly! If the dog is polite, I'm polite in turn. I prefer the smaller dogs (I guess they remind me of my little brother, who I played with all the time). I've even tried to entice a couple of dogs to play (my person says that's much more than I've ever done before-I guess I didn't even used to let dogs come near me at all, let alone try to play with them. Mind you, I used to be a very sociable and playful individual when I was a puppy, but I never got out of our 2 acre yard very much before, so I lost that trait a little bit. However, I'm slowly gaining it back).

We've gone down to two different creeks near the place we live, and we also go hiking around town. I've even gotten to go to a drive through Wildlife Park with my person! It was fun and I got to see a lot of animals I've never seen before like an American Bison and Black Bear.
Sadly, summer is drawing to an end and my person will be starting school again soon. She went to summer school, but that was only for a month. However, I know we'll still have plenty of fun adventures and times like we did last semester, so that'll make up for her being leaving and going to class.

I think that's all I have for now! Bark ya later!

Spring Fever

Spring is here and it's a busy time for the people. It also means swimming season is just around the corner. I can't wait for that! Getting wet and jumping in the pool are some of my favorite things to do. It's lovely to lay outside in the shade when the sun's too warm on my fur. My training for the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) is quickly approaching, and I know my girl is excited! Maybe I'll learn something new. The basic obedience classes were way below my level-so much that it was more of a refresher course. My human and I ended up doing our own thing off to the side or playing most of the time, after we did what the instructor asked of us. Oh, well. It was still some training time and time spent with my human.
