Arrival Story:
We went to the beagle rescue to adopt a little female beagle as we had just rescued one from a family down the street and she died soon after we got her from years of neglect and abuse. We somehow chose (or were chosen by) this 50 lb + Basset mix boy.

Bio:
He was our store dog for @ 5 years, he would go to work every day & greet customers, but as he got older he got a little cranky with kids & became a liability, so he is now retired and spending his days at home watching oprah.

To those of you looking for things to tear up my family with, remember it will come back to you three fold.
The 7 year old is NOT responsible for anything but her safety.
I loved her.
She wanted to protect me.
When Gideon 1st came home I attacked him. not to justify his aggression, but we have NEVER loved one another.
But my family adapted.
My family made provisions to protect me.
Much love to those of you that understand.
Lumps of coal to those that don't.

I want to thank all of you for welcoming me over the bridge, and sending warm thoughts to my surviving family. This has been a really hard time for them. My brother Gideon did not mean to end my life, he just wanted to not allow my alpha-ness, I was older and in the family longer. My dogs and cats miss me as do my humans. The children have unfortunately been exposed to death a few times in their young lives (3, 5 & 7). and they again unfortunately have witnessed the carnage of dogfights before. they have a plan to hide & cover (while the oldest gets the hose to try to break the fight from a distance).They talk about their love for me, and their anger at the events that have transpired and hopefully will not be scarred by these events. Dog bless all of you! Really.
