Arrival Story:
We'd just recently moved to North Carolina from Mexico City, and since I was little, I'd had a Border Collie/agility obsession and always wanted one. Also, my dad, who'd promised to keep my two Golden Retrievers for me until we moved into a house, gave away my two best friends (Mollie and Riley) and I was very depressed; the divorce and move had also caused some stress. My mom thought it would be a good idea to get me a dog to do agility with to keep me distracted and also happy, since I was missing my two other dogs. We checked out our local shelter to adopt a Border Collie for agility and spent three weeks looking for one. We found "Jessie", a 4 year old Border Collie mix, on a Saturday. She had been turned in by her owner because she "ran away too often" (which she never does anymore). Jessie came home with us on February 18, 2007.

Bio:
Jessie is a Border Collie (unsure if she is a mix or not; people have believed she has Collie in her), she's also very smart, good natured and friendly. She's photogenic and easy to take photos of; usually if you have some sort of food in your hand, she'll pay attention. I was originally going to change Jessie's name, but even though she'd only had it for about three days since she'd come to the shelter, she was already responding to it (proving how intelligent she is). We dropped out of agility after a year because the classes were getting too expensive, and Jessie wasn't enjoying them very much. Jessie's an amazing dog and loves everyone she meets. [:
