Leave a bone for Hakon's Colorado Blu Ice-(Blu)

Blue boy

Quick Bio:

Big, big bone to chew on, catching squirrels, digging holes, playing with tennis ball, having his belly rubbed.

Thunder storms

Favorite Toy:
Any ball.

Favorite Food:
Canned dog food--none of that dry stuff--he'll just knock it over and spill it all on the ground.

Favorite Walk:
Jumping over the fence and roaming the neighborhood alone. We don't know what he does on these trips--but he usually ends up in jail at the local vets office. Oh well, at least he had a good time and we always bail him out.

Best Tricks:
Sit, speak, shake. Oh yeah, he can really get some air while jumping for his tennis ball.

Arrival Story:
Bought him as a pup in Colorado Springs. He was so cute (still is). We brought him home to our son and he was so excited. We were pretty thrilled too! At first he missed his siblings and he cried a little--but that didn't last long and he accepted us as his new family. We named him Blu because he has one blue eye and one brown eye. And I gotta say that is one beautiful blue eye! But what's great about Blu is he's just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside.

As a puppy he always wanted to have a stick in his mouth--as you can see in photo. He didn't always chew or eat them--sometimes he just sat there with the stick dangling from the side of his mouth. I bet we took a million pictures. He recently became quite an escape artist. We have a fence around our yard and he discovered he could jump it---after 2 years!!!!! He's such a good natured dog---everyone who walks by our house knows his name. The mail carriers get out and hug him and give him treats. He's very gentle with our small dog--even when our small dog isn't so gentle with him. Sometimes he likes to howl for no apparent reason---kinda like to hear him howl--just something about it that'll give you chills. To sum it up--he's a great dog and we love him.

The vet called my mom today to say that the mass on my leg was malignant. I had cancer but they are very hopeful that all of it was removed during surgery. I'm doing really well and was back to being playful 2 days after my surgery. I LOVE being indoors ALL the time now. I'm getting a little spoiled but sleeping on the couch is SO nice! My brother Docker is even starting to get used to the idea of me being inside all the time although he still wants to hoard all the bones!

I had a mass removed from my left upper leg today (5/28/2010). I was a bit woozy on the ride home. My mom and dad had it sent to UGA for testing to see if I have cancer or just a fatty tissue.
